Finally, someone articulating myany feelings. I liked Part 1 as characters still seemed likeable. But for the…
The cast gave good performances. Especially Zhao Lu Si, who was so convincing in her acting that she made me hate her character Cheng Shao Shang. Wu Lei has been everyone's "little bro" on screen, it's hard to dislike him in any capacity. But his character bores the sunlight out of me. He's capable of better roles, honestly. The story is horrible, the characters are insufferable, egotistical, self-victimizing brats. It's bad enough that the author victimized them only to hail them as holier-than-everyone-else, but the characters themselves also did the same. I don't think I've hated a drama this much this year. Maybe Eve.
read a lot of controversy surrounding his acting. i just started watching rookie historian, only because i want to watch shin se kyung. his acting is okay. it's not terrible. and he's like what, only 25 years old. he still has time and room to grow. people are overreacting.
for real! I don't understand why people glorify this drama so much? this drama just wants to look cool but it…
i have come to suspect that most people just enjoy watching their favourite oppa-sama tachi on screen. as long as the actors and actresses look good, they don't need to think where the plot takes them. lee jong suk's character was in prison for 10 episodes. what's his skin condition like in prison in this drama? it was like he's been washing his face with innisfree, moisturising with mamonde and polishing himself with bb cushion every minute.
I beg to differ. I like him in Now We Are breaking up. He is fine in a witty roles. But he doesn't has the technique…
i thought he was a decent villain in big mouth. he was boring in dr romantic 2, but his other roles as a good person weren't particularly memorable for me. mr. han suk kyu has an edge over him, yes.
only simple minds would find simple and bratty characters complex. what the hell does a genre like xianxia has…
your comment to me proved to me that you don't even know what you're talking about and have no idea the difference between xianxia (you spelt it wrong too) and characterisation. look at what you wrote and tell me who is the rude one. oh, and you're insane, too. if you can't accept people who don't have to like what you blindly love, please grow TF up.
I think you all are totally wrong. And that your opinion and revue should be left for xanxia dramas with fairies,…
only simple minds would find simple and bratty characters complex. what the hell does a genre like xianxia has to do with characters' personalities and pacing of a story? i don't even like watching xianxia lmao. making stupid and ignorant assumptions of other people is truly a trait of insane fans.
Thanks for reading. I was OK with the FL at first. Then as the show progressed, her character became impossible…
I dislike whiny females who have no self-awareness and then go around being like a preachy Mother Superior. I'm also watching that hospice one. Forgot the title. Wish Upon Me or something. It's slow but I'm liking it so far. If the script acts up I'm going to drop it.
Finally, a review that mirrors exactly what I wanted to say but was too lazy to write and that's only because…
Thanks for reading. I was OK with the FL at first. Then as the show progressed, her character became impossible to support. Her bratty attitude just pissed me off at every turn.
I agree, it was dumbass. The scene when the 5th Princess' maid came and "snitched" about the tryst and the ML looked like he was ready to believe the crap that came out of her mouth. Like dude didn't you just smiled sweetly at the basket of goodies she sent for you? What happened to you that you couldn't open your mouth to object to that ridiculous travesty and stop the farce that was unfolding?
The Crown Prince Arc was infuriating. I wanted to write more in the review but I was tired from all that venting and I saw I actually wrote a wall of essay already. It just felt to me that the author ensured that no other female character can be a victim and also triumphed at the same time - other than her main female lead. So the Crown Princess had to made into a villain. I mean, what does a little 15-year old girl know about marriage and the feelings of a neglected wife like the Crown Princess? She also had to bear the pain of miscarrying a baby. What does a 15-year old know about the pain of losing a child? She went on to lecture the Crown Princess after she was already stripped of her titles and banished to the border, as if she's so great that she could lord over what another woman was feeling. She was all preachy to the Crown Princess, "The Crown Prince promised you he would take care of you, and walk the journey of life together with you, it's your fault you didn't listen to him! Blahblah" LOL. It was as if she was there during the whole duration of their marriage. Did she even see how the Crown Prince treat his wife? Little girl, the Crown Prince never made his wife feel cherished and loved, he never made her feel secure in their marriage union. Each interaction we saw was how the Crown Prince told his wife to shut up, told his wife to stop doing this, stop doing that. He never really loved her, so he never made any effort to make good of his marriage vows. Part of the reason that the Crown Princess fell into obsession with his ex is also the Crown Prince's responsiblity! But did the FL know that? No, she just repeated ad verbatim what the Crown Prince said as if she knew him so well after meeting him and interacting with him for like 2 times. LMAO. Like, I'm really pissed at how she's so arrogant and sure of herself that she can go around talk about crap that she doesn't know two cents about. I haven't touched an episode since 42. I'm still pissed.
I just went and read some of your reviews. I agree with some of the ones I've watched:
Inspector Joy - yes, this started off quite well but it went to hell 3/4 way through. The FL also started annoying me after that. The whole point of her independence and divorce was not even brought up again, so using that premise to start the story was like an abandoned statement. The ending was underwhelming.
The Good Detective - yes I also agreed with what you wrote about this. I actually forgot what the whole series was about but S2 just recently aired so I went bak to Ep 1 to rewatch and all the memories came flooding back. All that journey to save the guy who was wrongly convicted yet he was executed all the same. I was feeling so ...idk. I can't even say I'm mad because I lost hope and interest near the end.
Again My Life - I agree, it had a good momentum and build up then the last few episodes occured, and he went and got with the girl who shared a similar name with him. It was stupid. I too, supported him with the reporter who was previously a delinquent. Second choice would be the prosecutor. Hee Ah is the last choice I would ship him with. I just think it's dumb because Hee Woo said, he basically said, that he wanted to own Cheon Ha with his own two hands but what happened? He went and married the heiress of Cheon Ha. Oh wow, he really got Cheon Ha with his own two hands now from start to finish. That's basically cheating halfway through. Everyone knew Hee Ah had the hots for him from the start so he just owned Cheon Ha with his face.
The Sound of Magic - I agree with what you said based on the episodes I watched. I just didn't finish it. I dropped it after 4 episodes. I don't know why but I can't ever seem to finish any of JCW's dramas, except for Suspicious Partner and it was only because I was watching that with a friend so we just powered through the bad script.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo - This was really good for me until ep 10 or so. Now I'm feeling all kinds of disappointment. Ep 15 is a little better, but not amazing. IDK I have all sorts of complaints building up.
i was thinking i was missing out by not starting this drama, thanks for this review
yeah i don't think you're missing out. there are some good moments. my favourite character being consort yue, but her scenes are overshadowed by the main characters' annoying personalities for majority of the drama. all of the times consort yue is *just there* to carry the torch of justice. speaking up for the main female character, mostly, and it's just a travesty to her potential, imo.
Also communication is a general problem in asian shows. How many bad situations and evil schemes wouldn't exist…
it's not because it's an "asian" story. for real, miscommunication happens across all ethinicities and there is always a "misunderstanding arc" in any story. it's unavoidable. people have their reasons for liking the show, i don't mind their opinions. they can write their reviews, while these are my thoughts, my feelings, snd my review. thanks for reading my review until the end, though.

Sorry for the long essay. I went into a spiel lol
