Yes, I felt same way. And since it wasn't convincing, I dropped it. I'm just bummed that I waited until around episode 29 to drop it. I should of dropped it much earlier.

This story started out really fast, but it seemed to go downhill from there, at least for me. I've ploughed through this series since early January, and right now, still in episode 29. It's made me dump the series. It's too draggy for me and drags on and on and on, endlessly. Dilmurat is a stunning young woman, and Wu is a handsome young man, but I really cannot feel them both in this series, hence me dropping it. Others would surely feel otherwise and that's OK.
he is one of the highest paid actor but rarely accept drama, he has an upcoming drama called "moving" it is his…
This is nice. But if I had such widespread fame and acceptance, I'll keep on taking jobs and more jobs to get things cracking. Really... I'll look forward to the drama.
This movie is like a moving painting, with splashes of stunning color. The seriousness of the storyline, the sensual undertones, the stunningly choreographed fighting scenes render this movie all the more artistic.
But, I'd have loved a stronger storyline...though I have to admit that the love story itself gives chills.
If u like him in historical settings then wait for his upcoming high budget drama with dilireba (legend of anle)…
Thanks for the recommendations. But I may not be able to watch them all. I'm not a native Chinese speaker and so have to watch them with subtitles, which kind of detracts from the beauty of the series I'm seeing. But I'll surely see his upcoming work kerb Dilireba, that's for sure.
For over a year I battled to see where to watch this movie, until I eventually stumbled on it in Dramacool and gave it the attention I'd wanted to give it for long. And honestly, this movie is a BOMB. The love triangle is intensely captured. Imagine, chief and the king, with the former growing up under the latter and the latter loving the former from their formative years...and Chief, even as a kid, saying the best person is one who would lay his life down for the king. Reading through comments here I can see people berating the king and hating on him, but in this instance I feel he did what he had to do given the circumstances. I do not applaud it, but I understand it, and him. Furthermore, with the introduction of sex between the Chief and Queen, we see Chief opening up to a new, strange love he'd never witnessed and also being sad about it; he did go to the queen, then sleep next to the king and cuddled him, with tears leaking from his eyes. That was a sign that he loved this man, and he felt sad and confused about loving another. Then the anger, the sense of betrayal, the brutal punishment meted out, are all mind blowing. For me, chief did really love King, even though he told him otherwise in his last moments, to deeply hurt him. I know I would say the same, in the same circumstances... But the love remained there, as, even as he lay dying, he turned to King, in those very last, dying moments he had. That, dears, was love right there.
Actually, the person the king was nicest (least evil) to, when it was all said and done, was the Queen. He literally…
I agree with you. He may not have loved her, but he did respect her and offered her to go back to Yuan, to her people. When she wouldn't, he then suggested (ordered) the sexual liaison between her and Hong.
I just finished watching A Frozen Flower and I must confess, this man did a real laudable job as Emperor. Wow. Double wow. From loving, to ice cold, to murderous, he was EVERYTHING. I couldn't take my eyes off of him. But one thing though: after 2013, I can't see more credits of him. Isn't he still acting or something? Much love, Joo Jin, and happy new year (posting this at 12:25pm, Nigerian time, on the 1st of January, 2022).

Have seen comments saying it's up there.
I wish this man would do more movies and series. He is very talented.
