But his facial expression are same in every scene .....
to each their own i guess. u prefer the new portrayal while i prefer the old one. the old portrayal for me was more engrossing and had more complexity. the new one didn't really strike me as someone cold, just someone who doesn't socialize much. i respect ur opinion tho.
I finished season 1 hours before season 2, and I found the transition perfect, especially with the 5 years gap.…
yeah i noticed that too. i liked it better when they showed more melanin and had less makeup as it felt more realistic and suitable for this type of drama but oh well what can we do about today's beauty standards?

isnt yby's personality supposed to be steadfast and firm? even the writer described yby as the character who (quoting his words) "exhibits the most restrain out of any other character" and shows a "logical and indifferent personality". zhang ruoyun also described yby as someone who is "strict". i don't think his emotions were supposed to be easy to see,
i finished watching season 1 like 2 weeks ago so everything is still fresh to me but everything has been smooth so far for me and im not really bothered by anything unlike some viewers so im really confused??? yeah there are some minor changes and not everything is EXACTLY the same but that's understandable considering it's been years and the vibe is still just like in s1. people be talking about how the comedy is "exaggerated" as if fan xian as a kid didn't beat up his butler in ep 1. JOL1 had lots of comedy in the first half of the show (and still consistently had some bits in the latter half) just like what we're seeing in JOL2 right now, maybe JOL2 has a bit more comedy but really it's not that big of a difference. obviously the show is not that serious yet because there are still a lot of episodes left (TZJ's death in JOL1 only happened in the second quarter of the show).
it feels weird seeing yan bingyun very not... frigid. i think they should've transitioned that better rather than changing his personality right away (if it was intentional well because he's a whole lot less serious now). imo his character was more interesting when it was harder to read him.
daily password sharing (forgot to start this cuz im still rewatching ss1)If you want to watch Joy of life season…
i was waiting for u to appear here on JOL2 lol i often saw you in legend of shenli and used your acct to watch it and saw you say you'll renew ur subscription when JOL2 comes. now im using it to watch JOL2 too after watching JOL1. i'd like to take this chance to thank u for sharing your account <3
no. s2 is a continuation of s1, they are basically the same story broken into two parts (with one more part soon).
it's necessary to watch season 1 tho, or else you won't understand season 2 and who the characters are, im pretty sure they won't explain everything all over again and will straight up resume from season 1's cliffhanger ending (there's a chance they'll recap for a few minutes, but it's only for those who watched JOL1 to recall the events. it won't help you much). better to finish JOL1 first and avoid any spoilers about JOL2. trust me, it's totally worth the time!
season 1 is not a backstory for season 2 because season 1 already includes many of the essential plot points. JOL2 is really just a continuation of the story. don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to catch up because JOL2 will end in june. you can finish JOL1 in less than a week if you start right away.
