I thought it would be like the Imperial Coroner but the last episode was quite surprising. They decided to off anyone they didn't need. Am I insane for liking the ending of that empress and noble consort? Out of everything, I thought theirs was fitting 😂 I rated this 9. 8.5 for the drama and the extra 5 for the ending song. Never skipping a Zhou Shen song.
If you see a negative comment, ignore it because this drama deserves all the love. After watching GoT, I kind of got used to characters dying so that has never bothered me. Now why should you give it a try? Feng Suige. I absolutely love how Chen Zhenyuan portrayed him. What I love most about Suige is that he wasn't afraid to tell the emperor to go f*** himself. I despised Liu Yuning's character in ADWAD for tolerating his father's bull shit just because he was the emperor. Like screw filial piety. If he's a shitty parent then who cares about his profession? I like that Suige didn't tolerate shit. That slap he gave Zhuang Shen was top tier. The way he didn't hesitate to break that moron's neck in ep 2? Epic. This was such a breath of fresh air. And is it weird that I was rooting for Xiyang and that crazy emperor? I tried to hate him but honestly, that nutcase Jingshi was worse for creating that death camp. Not that Jingyan was any better but I just couldn't bring myself to hate him. Although I don't think anyone would top Feng Pingcheng. I swear these dramas be introducing me to a new kind of psycho every day. Anyway, this was a solid 9 for me. Would prolly be 9.5 if Xiyang and that crazy emperor of hers had a different ending.
It wasn't that bad. I mean Hongye and Jingting were shitty parents and the ending was unnecessary but I liked everything else. Instead of sword and beloved, they shoulda called something else. If you're looking for romance, you won't find it here. The whole FSMM series was a shit show but this was the only one that didn't bore me to death. Of course I don't agree with the ending. How is it that three generations all died trying to kill the same person? And that asshole Jingting? The story could have done without him. I keep wondering where the scriptwriters went wrong or maybe the books are just that bad? I'll try watching the anime before passing judgement. As someone who watched this after BR, I couldn't believe Fan Yunfei was also Su Changhe. He was too adorable 🥰. I look forward Huasen's other characters.
The novelist is writing more books currently. The plan is apparently to develop TBOY and BR as parallel worlds,…
Isn't DY like a prequel to TBOY? Because we get to see the backstories of the parents/masters of Xiao Se and his crew. Actually, I think they're all in the same universe but to avoid criticism, the author decided to give BR a happy ending when it should be sad😂. It's like saying the fox spirit series are set in different universes because the first one flopped so bad. I haven't read the books but I've watched all three and I don't care about the endings as long as the stories were good. Which they were.
What's with the rating? I thought it would be higher. I just finished it and the fight scenes were great. I like the trust between Su Muyu and Su Changhe. Ngl at some point I was convinced Changhe would betray Muyu but I'm glad he didn't. Their friendship prevailed. It was worth the watch. I normally don't rewatch anything (does watching donghua count as rewatching 🤔) but if I ever start, it would either be this, blood of youth or dashing youth.
I'm on episode 22 and what do you mean you can't do anything to him since he's a prince? How about breaking his legs, hands and cutting off his tongue? He will still be alive after. Won't he? 🙄
I could curse this emperor until the end of time and it still won't be enough. What right does he have to hate Nan Heng? From what I understand, he was the one who defied the previous emperor's edict so he could marry Heng's mother. It was his greed that caused the empress's death. If he hadn't insisted on marrying nobles consort Gao, why would her brother go to such lengths to secure the throne for his nephew? Not that I'm excusing that bastard's crimes but the truth is the emperor brought all that tragedy unto himself. Why is he blaming Heng? And why is Heng accepting all this bullshit? For once, I want to see a prince who doesn't tolerate his father's crap in the name of filial piety. Give me someone who walks away and starts afresh somewhere else because he knows his worth. Why bother trying to please someone who will never appreciate you? Let's be honest, someone with Nan Heng's intelligence can easily start his own kingdom and make it more prosperous than Jing. I bet this stupid kingdom would be struggling to survive if it wasn't for him. Why do writers always insist on writing righteous princes? Why is rebellion the only option? Ugh, don't even get me started on that eighteenth prince. Literally everyone, even the emperor knows he's not fit to be the crown prince. That kingdom will be reduced to ashes under his rule. So why are people even supporting him? Also, out of eighteen children, is there no other trustworthy prince? Or are the others princesses? 🤔
I'm on episode 8 and the FL is annoying me. Why is everything Nan Heng's fault? I get that he's the villain but for someone who comes from a modern world, why can't she use her brain? Anything to do with the fight for the throne is never that simple. No one involved in politics is truly innocent. Girl, take a few steps back and assess the situation before passing judgement. Other than that, I'm enjoying this. The guard dropping a pot on the other guard's head because he was annoyed had me rotfl. Poor guy ðŸ˜
I don't know why I put off watching this for so long. It was pretty good and my sister who is obsessed with the donghua (and always trying to convince me to watch it) said it was better compared to Duoluo continent. Couldn't agree more. First time seeing ZYR (only because I haven't watched his other dramas) and I liked him. His arrogance, the way he walked and his deep voice was epic. And after watching a few episodes of the donghua, I think ZYX is perfect as Wu. My curiosity has been piqued and I can't wait for sn3 so I'm going to watch the donghua. Thank you to the commenter who gave us the exact episode of where to start.
I'm so done with open ending dramas. How hard is it to give us a proper ending? Will one episode in the real world kill these directors and scriptwriters? 😤
Uh why does it feel like they edited out the saucy parts? The bathtub scene and now the kiss on episode 25 where Yinlou bites Duo. Am I imagining things or were these parts edited out? What was the reason?
This was so good. Unlike Bai Jiusi, Siling totally fooled me in the first episodes. I believed her act and when she finally dropped it, my jaw was on the floor. The leads need another drama. Modern or costume, I don't care. Make it happen. What I didn't like is the ending. This is considered a happy ending but why can't they give us more? I wanted them to have another baby or somehow save Shi'an. Where is the cheesy HEA? After all the misunderstandings, they could have dedicated a whole ass episode to the leads 😤 . I feel robbed
One of the tags being mature female lead but all I'm seeing is naive. Let's not talk about the way the FL is letting Lu Na boss her around. What's with everyone having the same ringtone? And in episode 14, Reba just took a bath. Why is she still wearing lipstick? Also, they didn't have other shades of lipstick? 😔😔 This would have been watchable if the FL wasn't such a pushover. Gonna try to watch a few more episodes but honestly, I don't think I'll complete it.
Beginning of rant I was wondering why the rating isn't over 8 and at episode 34, I get it. The humor is top tier and the characters had me cracking up in each episode until Liang arrived. Was it necessary to make her evil? Why couldn't she just back off and support the leads? Are there people who behave like her? It's been years yet she's still pining after someone who wasn't interested in her in university. Really? And why does Cheng Yao suddenly mind the way Qian Heng speaks? Like girl, he's been rude and arrogant from the second you met. You didn't care about it but now that you're dating you expect him to suddenly change? Tf? The way I see it, she's only projecting her insecurities onto him. Before Liang arrived, all she thought about was improving herself and becoming better. But all of a sudden, she's insecure and wants to get on his level so people don't look down on her. And there's nothing wrong with that. What's grating on my nerves is the fact that she thinks she can do it overnight. It took years for QH to get to where he is. Calm TF down. I liked that she was so positive and didn't let whatever nonsense QH said get to her because she knew how he was. I swear Chinese writers when I catch y'all.... End of my rant.
