This was so good. Unlike Bai Jiusi, Siling totally fooled me in the first episodes. I believed her act and when she finally dropped it, my jaw was on the floor. The leads need another drama. Modern or costume, I don't care. Make it happen. What I didn't like is the ending. This is considered a happy ending but why can't they give us more? I wanted them to have another baby or somehow save Shi'an. Where is the cheesy HEA? After all the misunderstandings, they could have dedicated a whole ass episode to the leads 😤 . I feel robbed
One of the tags being mature female lead but all I'm seeing is naive. Let's not talk about the way the FL is letting Lu Na boss her around. What's with everyone having the same ringtone? And in episode 14, Reba just took a bath. Why is she still wearing lipstick? Also, they didn't have other shades of lipstick? 😔😔 This would have been watchable if the FL wasn't such a pushover. Gonna try to watch a few more episodes but honestly, I don't think I'll complete it.
Beginning of rant I was wondering why the rating isn't over 8 and at episode 34, I get it. The humor is top tier and the characters had me cracking up in each episode until Liang arrived. Was it necessary to make her evil? Why couldn't she just back off and support the leads? Are there people who behave like her? It's been years yet she's still pining after someone who wasn't interested in her in university. Really? And why does Cheng Yao suddenly mind the way Qian Heng speaks? Like girl, he's been rude and arrogant from the second you met. You didn't care about it but now that you're dating you expect him to suddenly change? Tf? The way I see it, she's only projecting her insecurities onto him. Before Liang arrived, all she thought about was improving herself and becoming better. But all of a sudden, she's insecure and wants to get on his level so people don't look down on her. And there's nothing wrong with that. What's grating on my nerves is the fact that she thinks she can do it overnight. It took years for QH to get to where he is. Calm TF down. I liked that she was so positive and didn't let whatever nonsense QH said get to her because she knew how he was. I swear Chinese writers when I catch y'all.... End of my rant.
I'll admit that when I started watching this, I kept comparing HYX and YBY. I guess I was trying to picture who fit the role more. But HYX did so good that at some point I forgot she wasn't the original lead. I also heard she filmed most scenes alone. Kudos to her. I hope she gets more scripts and keeps advancing in her career. I love LXY but I was expecting more badass scenes. He's among the actors who can pull off dual characters so well. I would have loved to see him as an evil demon king. Bet he would have slayed. Also anyone noticed how ARP played XY's character in Moonlight Mystique then he was his brother here and also named Bailing. The same name XY used in LAR. I thought that was a cute coincidence. Lastly, where do I sign the petition for Chinese writers to give us a green flag heavenly emperor? I'm so tired of these toxic, fake a** immortal rulers. For once, can we get someone who isn't selfish?
Why is Ma Yi Yi's character annoying me so much? That cutesy stuff doesn't suit her. It's so cringe. I actually like until she starts talking in a thin voice. Why did they make her do it? ðŸ˜
I need to know why Hongye didn't marry Huaizhu as his wife. I don't understand why she changed her identity to that snake's cousin. Someone explain it to me.
I first saw Wang Duo in Bloody Romance and I've always liked him. So I'm looking forward to this. But why are there so many saying Yang Yang can't act? Like 🤔
I was so bothered by Yun Jiwon's wardrobe. I get that she was a teacher and probably a nerd but really? And the wedding shoot dress 😠lawd. Meanwhile the Seok was in fitting suits. I finished it and I liked it but I got the feeling the costume designer didn't like the FL that much
So I finally watched this because I wanted to know why it was a failure despite the stellar cast. I think that there was too much going on. There was barely any time for me to get attached to the characters. Out of all the couples, I only liked Bu Tai and Shi Kuan. Even the main couple didn't do it for me. I'm thinking that maybe if it was longer it would have made a bit of sense. Anyway, the only redeeming parts are the costumes and OSTs. I loved some of the songs. I'm not sure I'll watch the second part but I'm looking forward to Cheng Yi 's part.
Is there a reason they didn't let Luo Zhizhou take that king's head with him? I was waiting for that and I'm disappointed it didn't happen. Dude deserved worse 🙄
Why isn't Yan Xi in tons of dramas? I really liked him in the first season and thought to watch out for more of his dramas. But so far, I haven't seen any. Why are they sleeping on him?
I don't know anything about Bai Lu but I will watch this for Luo Yunxi
@Pinklotus12 you should definitely watch The Legends, Arsenal Military Academy, One and Only, Forever and Ever and Love is Sweet. Bai Lu has acted in all of them and they're great. Love is Sweet being the first collab with Luo Yunxi. I highly recommend it.
When I saw the trailer, I thought the leads were good looking so I was gonna give the drama a try but now I'm definitely watching it. Because I just saw Evan Lin. After Crush, I've become a huge fan of his so this is going on my watchlist

Anyway, I'll be back after I'm done.
