I do love a good brotherly revenge plot, with extra violence. They are my weakness. I liked that it didn't drag out to like 12 or 16 episodes. I think 7 episodes was fine for how the plot progressed. Did a silent fist pump for the younger brother's underling.
I agree with your sentiment about the cast. The writing and direction wasn't great, quite basic honestly, so even…
100% agree.
Also, absolutely loved Be My Favourite, that it actually became a favourite. So it really isn't about the actors. They really just aren't given something great to work with.
Seems we agree on all things. I've always loved Boom since CoH and briefly knew Smart from DSN (and his story I never got 😂), and just from the 1st episode, you could see the connection between them; that they match each other so well that it just clicks, nothing about them feels off. I never felt that with Joss and Gawin.
Same with Star Hunter, I really liked Big Dragon as an overall series but a majority, if not all, of their series, like you said, go nowhere and they like to make the plots messy for no reason at all. They have the potential and the basis of their series have good ground but they don't follow through.
To conclude; I really have no idea what GMMTV were going for with this series. I don't get the vibe or genre they were aiming for, honestly. Which is a real shame because I did have high hopes for this series when it was announced.
This was so boring. And cringey. But all issues like cgi and plot aside, my biggest problem was the cast. They…
I agree with your sentiment about the cast. The writing and direction wasn't great, quite basic honestly, so even though these are great actors, I didn't feel like they had room to play with characters/lines. It felt rigid in a lot of places, with no room to grow. Without meaning this as an insult to other series but this felt like a beginner Star Hunter series and not a GMMTV series that should have decent enough budget and time to make it better than what it actually was. I also think I'm on the same page as you regarding JossGawin. Great actors and great actors can have great chemistry with anyone (Gawin & First case in point) but as a "ship/couple" I don't really see it, either.
I just expected more. Tong coming back to life & Nakon dying were just very predictable from episodes before. No real great plot twist. I wanted to connect to the characters and plot but just couldn't. Even sad scenes didn't affect me and usually I cry at any actor crying 😂 It was a fun watch ever week, though.
However, can't believe I'm gunna say this (screenshot in case I delete later 😂), every week since it aired, Pitbabe had my attention more which is really staying something when you know my beef with pitbabe 😂
they'll upload the rest of the episodes once the show is complete in Japan
Don't see why they just didn't wait until it had finished in first place. Episode 5 was just getting to really good bit and now I have to wait and hope my interest doesn't wane lol
Extra ep set 11 years later with happy ending https://youtu.be/rIcdgalcMUE
I saw but it's annoying that it has to be an extra ep, like why not just make the finale ep a happy ending and I hate time jumps, especially big ones like 11 years 😵💫 Seems like extra ep was a back up 🫤
I was going to give this a better rating but the final episode let me down.
I've been around long enough to expect the bare minimum of happy endings from China. A majority are sad, and a few are very open ended, and only happy when it collabs with an outside country.
So for this series to have a sad ending isn't shocking or surprising. It's not even a bad thing - IF IT HAD BEEN DONE WELL.
I cannot fault the acting and chemistry. It was the whole glue of this series. The plot; minus unexplained issues, like the necklace, wasn't that bad.
How they ended it was the issue; nothing was explained, there was no plot twist, introduction of a character right at the end that overall had no impact whatsoever. The ending was predictable and frustrating. A full episode of flashback clips, it honestly served no purpose as it ended as simple as plot message; abandon/leave him or he dies. So he did.
Rewatching this in 2025, how I gave this 6 stars in 2023 is beyond me!
The writing and company seriously destroyed any chance this ship had of a decent series.
This was sooo badly written and produced and I've been watching BLs since 2004 so that says a lot! Whatever character growth they had in My Story was literally thrown in the trash this series 🙃
And I just found out the cast changed on the new BL they were supposed to be in (wonder if it's because Jer left Oxin though) but still, won't be watching that now.
I liked this series. Binged watched it. Good characters and a decent plot, messy in places and the crazy 10 year time jump but still madly in love was unrealistic. But still a good binge watch.
But why did I cry more over the phone call with Hyeonho than any other scene? 😂
Oh how I secretly rooted for him too 🤭 He's such a pretty crier aswell 😖 Why, at the end of a majority of KBLs, do I find myself loving the support charactors/couple more, and as always wishing they have spin offs 😂😂
