I know I'm in the minority opinion on this, but I didn't really like Edan Lui's performance of Tin/Haruta. I felt…
I'm with you on this. No worries you're not the only one. I personally can't feel the subtle transition in feelings from fondness to romantic love btw the leads in the remake (that spark n tension, if you know what I mean) . Japanese Haruta made ppl to not hate him as much, I think that's why the Japanese actor won various best leading actor awards for this role as Haruta
I am dropping it and will watch only the end, it's a typical drama, when I watch it I feel I'm watching taiwan…
Personally I find the plot is better after the breakup, but the chemistry and leads romance here, I just can't feel it. This remake makes me realize how impt the acting was in the original version. I mainly watched this series for the romance, but sadly that is lost on me,.. Can't even feel if Tin is in love with Muk at all, which I can still vague feel in the original. But at least the plot after the breakup episode is worth having a look I think
No, it's the same story but with a Hong Kong setting and cast
Yes there was a 2016 version as a short 45min movie. The vibe of that one is quite interesting. Haruta is actually quite good at his job and cunning in that one. It was popular enough to be turned into a drama series in 2018
No, it's the same story but with a Hong Kong setting and cast
The general vibe that I got is that the 2016 ver has a comedy serious vibe, 2018 has a comedy hilarious sincere n emotionally charged vibe (very typical Japanese comedy so your ear may hurt in the first few eps) , and the HK one has a comedy chill sweet youth vibe
I suppose I hope HK has LOTS more BLs too, but...why does that require ignoring stupid BL-cliche, gays-can't-be-happy…
It's an Asian series where stuff is still very conservative... Heck even sex between man and women before marriage is still frowned upon. It's not realistic but its baby steps towards the right mindset. If you're looking for sth sexy and realistic, you won't find it here
As someone who has also been watching this show and who has watched Ossans Love from Japan before this I would…
Ah I was pretty much sitting on fire and crying my eyes out during emotional scenes during ep 6 and 7(even if the first 2/3 of ep 7 didn't make much sense). I read in an interview that the entire filing crew, staff,n director cried during the breakup scene.. And Haruta who wasn't supposed to cry in the script also ended up crying
Please don't be disheartened. This is a remake, therefore it is inevitable that people with compare to the original…
This sort of comparison is inevitable, as the original was a hugely popular classic done by very experienced actors, (so I felt it was rather risky and tricky to remake this series), but I think the youth vibe in this drama is great and fresh. And if the remake works locally then it's already a great achievement. Just ignore those who are bashing both the original version and this version since they probably miss the point of the series anyway
