I was wondering: is the acting mediocre? Is it just bearable? Or is it worse? Though I'm sure the main leads have much time and room for improvement; their acting career have only just started.
Edit: thanks for the replies! For extra context, I haven't watched this but I'm interested.
Ah welcome to jdrama world! I agree that this drama is really good ^^ it's so funny yet heartfelt
thank you for the warm welcome 😉. i'm happy that i discovered them; turns out, it's not that scary to expand on the genres and productions that i watch!
Finally finished the last two episodes. It was a burden to start watching them, but when I did, I begged for it to not end 😿. I understand that the plot grew stale from the tenth episode onwards, but please be patient! In my opinion, it was worth it.
i really liked this! it was absurd in all the right ways—coming from someone who often can't stand absurdity in dramas. the pacing was a bit off in my opinion, but everything still flowed smoothly and you get such a satisfying ending. i really liked the acting of the children and the tutor! (for some context, this is my first j-drama.)
I don't quite know how to put my feelings about the 12th episode and the breakup trope, but I do think that I can understand where Youngdo was coming from. at least, it was foreseeable and not something that was introduced suddenly into the plot. I, of course, thought that they could've talked it over, but let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best from the writers. I would elaborate on how I want things to move from here, but let's not jinx it. anyway, I actually quite liked the break-up scene; it was human for Dajeong to turn her disappointment and sadness into anger, and it was human for both of them to say things they didn't mean in their mixed emotions. shortly: I was THIS close to not watching anymore due to reading spoilers about the noble idiocy, but I'm glad I stayed.
great article! i know that he's more of an ambiguous character, but i would be curious on anyone's take towards Baek I-hyun from The Nokdu Flower. he's incredibly wicked, yet did he have a choice to be otherwise?
THEY KISSED!!!!!! AH!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the look after the kiss.... their chemistry and acting are just amazing... this episode felt balanced in its tone-shifting, though i didn't really pay attention to all the details since i watched it half-asleep. i also loved that we saw more of dajeong's family! every character and relationship is, so far, written to be able to exist in real life (minus the mystery side), and that naturality draws me in a lot. now i'm holding on to the hope that the genre won't shift to classic borderline-cringy romcom with the noble idiocy trope 🙏
i'm at episode 4 should i catch up or slow down watching so i don't have to wait ? is it better if i binge it
i personally would rather binge a drama like this, but surprisingly watching this on-going hasn't been annoying me due to the lack of episodes nor making me lose interest in it. i really don't know which would be better 😹 up to personal taste, i guess?
Actually only 1.7% people dropped the drama. I won't call it that a lot of people dropped this. Also the ratings…
wow, didn't know that feature was available. i'll check it out! i knew this drama is receiving much love in this website, but i saw other k-drama forums (i don't know if i can talk about other websites here so i won't name them) and a lot of opinions differ there, with many dropping this drama. maybe that's why i feel so :D
I feel like people should at least watch 4 episodes before dropping. Pilot episodes are almost always a bit clunky…
same by me really. i'm guilty of dropping dramas after watching the first half-hour of the first episode 😅 luckily enough, YAMS actually was able to pull me in from its first week. glad i chose to watch it on-going because i probably might not give it a chance if i wait for it to release all the episodes.
it's sad that many people dropped this drama in the premiere week due to it not meeting their expectations... the story just gets better and better by each episode.
every time i expected a dialogue to go down the cringy lane, the writer quite surprised me by making it fit into each character's personality and so, not awkward. kim dongwook and seo hyunjin's acting were both particularly amazing in this episode—talk about chemistry! also, there are so many little details in certain scenes! i don't want to turn on the spoiler tag so i won't go into details, i guess (it's not much anyway). cinematography was amazing as always. i just love this drama so much, wish it'll get better ratings.
personally, i feel like episodes 3 and 4 are where the plot really starts brewing, and the latest episodes were…
aaah i see, i do find the characters more endearing as the episodes go by! btw i'm sorry if i seem really biased 😹 i really like this drama and it's the only on-going drama besides HP 2 which i haven't dropped.
Can anyone tell me whether the plot gets better? I tried watching the first few episodes when they were first…
personally, i feel like episodes 3 and 4 are where the plot really starts brewing, and the latest episodes were definitely satisfying. a lot of people thought that the first two episodes were lackluster for a premiere week, and though i don't think so, i understand their point of view. i think it might be because the two main genres of thriller and healing still clashed and couldn't seem to make sense together. but as i said, it's episodes 3 and 4 for me that really made this drama a must-watch.
