I suddenly remembered that Mike Angelo and Esther have worked together in a series before as FL and ML and that series was the very first chinese series that I watched!
He treated everyone that way. He did not judge her for being ugly, but for not being good at her job. He was incredibly…
After a year, I can say that I actually understand why fl became that way. It's because her family suddenly became poor from rich. When you are poor, you are desperate, you won't have time or energy to apply makeup when you have many part time jobs plus good make up products are expensive if she wanted to use it for long term, going to salon and straightening her hairs frequently costs money too. She is enthusiastic and ready to do any work and even comes off as pushover cause she got that job with difficulty. In south Korea where beauty standards are high she is already very thankful to have landed a job in a good company despite her looks so she thinks that she must atleast be hardworking to keep her job that's why she is enthusiastic to do anything. When she was young she had the leisure to act elegant, composed and intelligent cause they didn't have money problem but when she became adult she just wanted to survive, to make her and her parents' financial condition better.
As for SML, yes he made fun of her since the start but I didn't see it bothering her in any way, also he helped her since the first ep. Compared to others except her best friend, he is the only one who treated her well in my opinion since they met.
I don't blame swl or gt, both of them have a dark past and trauma hence their actions in this ep. Many might hate swl for what he said about omegas but I feel pity towards him cause of what he has gone through in his childhood. There has been no one who loved him and the one he loved actually gave him such a deep trauma about omegas. He has been raised in a cold blooded environment with dark background so I have no complaints about him. As for gao tu, he has many misunderstandings and it's not his fault cause of his dark childhood too and they never talked heart to heart and never shared their thoughts with each other to clear everything up.
Fair point. It is plausible at that point in time, but considering the leads spent years at the academy, it just…
If we go by the age in the novel then they were still young in the series and also due to being general it's not unreasonable for he rufei's height to grow. They were even younger in the acedmy so after not being in each other's presence for so long they inevitably won't grow suspicious and can just explain it as grown spurt. ML not noticing the difference in height while being in the court can be because of grief but later could be because they were young and in their growth period so his height increasing wasn't unreasonable, especially as they weren't meeting each other on daily basis. So from the view of plotline it can still be explained but because they used the same actors to play the younger and older version it feels odd. Actually the reasoning of the ML, emperor, ministers, the common people can be explained because they all were never in constant contact with general feihong and just knew that he is a masked guy who has won many military achievements (except ML who just knew her personality when they were young) but how come the deputy generals and subordinates under her not notice this difference? (Maybe they did notice it but felt that there was no reason to arouse such suspicion?? I mean who would suspect that their identity was swapped and that they were led by a girl in battle field all along?)
Stories are bound to have plot holes especially when adapting from novel to series but I think that the series version did pretty well to fill up all the plot holes if we ignore a few minor things. The only thing I have complain about is the reborn he yan never wanted to claim the glory or the title of general feihong. From the time she was young she was taught that whatever she had belonged to her brother so when he comes back she must give his things back to him so she was never attached to the glory or the title of general as it was earned in the name of her brother. If not for being forced by the situation to join the army again and getting to know the heinous deeds of her brother she wouldn't have thought of revenge or exposing his identity. Also why make her and rufei step siblings?? It would have been perfectly fine if they were shown as cousins like in the novel. As a reader who likes to read novels with ancient era genre, I can't help but think of the clique of step siblings (the shu and di born conflicts of backyard) where they are always at each other's throats and it's justified but I didn't want this justified reason cause it doesn't highlight the cruelty of her family. It ends up falling in 'its common' category but overall everything was still good in my opinion. Still both of these changes made me feel like they have changed the core essence of the story.
The things in the novel didn't appear this way so the excuse for height difference can only be that the ML was too much in sorrow and under pressure so he didn't pay attention to these things, as for the voice change, in the novel it was given that due to the mask his voice appeared different but after removing it his voice became 'normal'.
Ohh...I read about them roughly on Wattpad cause the translation wasn't good. From what SWL thought both his fathers seems to have sadist masochist relationship but somehow his whole understanding of their relationship shattered when his omega father came to meet him and I too got confused. If the author really makes a story on swl's parents then it gonna be messy and chaotic for sure. Also I felt bad for swl cause he suffered the most due to his parent's relationship.
On the site of link you provided they have updated the chapter until swl's omega father helps gao tu and ma heng go to another country. Now I have another question. Why is swl's own father playing a villian and hiding gao tu from him? He even sent SWL to his alpha father where his alpha father locked him in a room that is related to his childhood trauma. And his alpha father seems very unkind, beating him so much, does his omega father not have any affection towards swl to send him back to be with such a man he himself left in the past?
Especially I read on reddit that they meet after 3 yrs and there's no climax as they suddenly got together without much explanation and people on reddit said that their ending is a bit disappointing😭
Ikr, I have seen many people here and on social media say that they liked the second couple more but in the series I like both the couples equally but still in the novel after reading swl's and gt's part I keep wanting to bang my head to a wall😭
I actually think it worked in his favor that SSY found out this way instead of in a more ordinary way. He couldn't…
I suddenly feel like reading the novel now😂. If putting baby inside ssy was his plan from the start then the novel's more interesting cause I want to see the completely domineering hua yong. (He is domineering in series too but most of the time because he pretends to be weak and because his thoughts can't be completely expressed in the series he doesn't sound as domineering).
I actually think it worked in his favor that SSY found out this way instead of in a more ordinary way. He couldn't…
Yeah I did think that it won't be dramatic if ssy didn't find out but because I knew already that he will find it out due to earthquake that I thought that with hua yong's carefulness and ability he could have hidden the truth for a very very long time (but that's just what I think). As for hua yong being unwilling to be a bottom, as I haven't read the novel so I don't really know about it but I kept thinking that his unwillingness is because he didn't want to give into ssy desires easily to make himself different from all the omegas ssy has been with, to delay and keep making ssy feel tempted but can't have him completely also he later pretended to be a rape victim with trauma and someone who thought himself to be dirty in front of his lover so not wanting his lover to touch him hence gaining ssy's pity, guilt and affection. I actually thought that hua yong is so obsessed with ssy that he is willing to be bottom.
As for SML, yes he made fun of her since the start but I didn't see it bothering her in any way, also he helped her since the first ep. Compared to others except her best friend, he is the only one who treated her well in my opinion since they met.
