I watched until the last episode and MuLe ‘s acting and character deserves praises and appreciation from audience. He’s the reason I watch the whole drama.

If you can read Chinese it is very easy to find out in the drama credits itself or from the official source. William Chan is from Hong Kong and he is a singer (he has beautiful voice but has strong Cantonese accent) whereas for Zhang Zhe Han, he can sing. Some of them use their own voice but majority time will use dubbed voice because it’s more professional. Zheng ye cheng debuted with dubbed voice which have limited screen. he used his own voice in modern dramas and keep practicing for ancient dramas.

Hahaha, majority of China audience want to drop this drama but they are holy that only left two more episodes. So many endure this drama and watch MuLe/Prince AYing, Tian Shu’s scenes while fast forwarding other scenes lol.

Certain actor or actress have dialect accents and some were really bad at 台词(voicing their own dialogue) that required professional help or some of their real voice doesn’t fit the character they portrayed. Zheng Ye Cheng has been improving himself over each drama he has participated. His professionalism is currently ranked highest out of 50 “hottest/famous” young celebrities in China.

They are canon in the novel. The writer wrote a special chapter for both of them.

Zheng Ye Cheng is not from HC company. Female lead and second male lead are. Anyway, episode 33 until 48 the director cut so many internal scenes for male lead that China audience are all frustrated and keep scolding the drama script writer. And female lead’s acting skills were terrible in the last few episodes which we have no idea whether is she not in the he correct mood while filling the drama or the script is she was never in love with MuLe, so many audience don’t want MuLe to be with Yuan An. She can be with zhao if she wants and MuLe deserves better woman.

Totally agree with you. I have no idea what’s wrong with Janice Wu’s acting in ep 43 until 48 and the trailer. Does she even loves MuLe AYing? If she is not, I hope MuLe AYing can just leave her. She don’t deserves him at all. She can be with Zhao as much as she wants.

I need to make some corrections.. only female lead and second male lead are from the same company. Second female is from another company whereas male lead is another djfferent company.

Yuan An was poisoned in episode 13, Mu Le rather die with Yuan An in order to get the antidote for her. Mu Le has nothing to lose but he can’t let Yuan An to die alone.
Yuan An was poisoned in episode 31, Zhao Lan Zhi was threatened to marry Infanta Ming Hui in order to get the antidote; Mu Le will kill Ming Hui to get the antidote. Zhao has the chance to tell the truth to Queen and elope with Yuan An after Yuan An has recovered but he rather to sacrifice his so-called “love” with Yuan An and married Infanta Ming Hui. He may lost his “love”, but he still have his power as higher authority.

Mu Le was almost kiss by other female characters but he escaped from it although face some struggles. Zhao was kissed by Infanta and he never thought of avoiding any contact s with Infanta; besides, Zhao sometimes blame Yuan An for the things she did and they always have fights/argue with each other, Zhao always find reason to justify all the bad things that infanta did, such as was she forced? She is a good person, she must have her own reason etc.
The difference here show clearly who is the one that truly love Yuan An and be loyal to her.

Female lead (Yuan An), second male lead (Zhao Lan Zhi) and second female lead (Infanta Ming Hui) are under same company, HC and HC has an agency for their actors/actresses. Initially the drama script was written until 30 episodes by the script writer/novel author but after filming + post production it becomes 50 episodes. Usually a 30 episodes script after filming will extend up to 35~45 episodes in a drama. Zheng Ye Cheng’s agency did not request for any addition episodes as it is under HC’s control instead.

Male lead (Mu Le)'s character was rejected by previous agreed male actor and no male actor would want to take the male lead role after reading the initial script. It seems that HC company who produced this drama wants to make their own artists to be famous by giving more screen time to their artists and reduce male lead scenes. HC company already decided the Female Lead and Second Male Lead in the first place. As the male lead is a difficult character to portrait and no male actor would take the lead role, HC company can’t start the shooting.

The male lead actor needs to act out different and many transitions from a prince to losing memory to becoming a slave – being tortured and beaten before becoming a horse slave/miss servant to a soldier who got bullied and framed – to a bandit who lives freely on his own will and started to gain confident until he restores his memory back and be a capable prince, etc. This means that the male lead actor must have a good acting skills/facial expression/body language because male lead is not the normal likable/interesting character or have more chemistry with the female lead and won't have enough screen time/dialogues in the front until middle episodes (until Ep 32) of the drama.

Back then, male lead actor (Zheng Ye Cheng) was in the middle of terminating his contract with his company due to bad treatment. He signed the contract when he was still young where he just graduated and the contract is valid until 2019/2020. However, even since he was debuted, he was not provided with assistant/helper so he has to do everything by himself until later on where he become more success; he need to use his own money to buy flight ticket to travel to the filming place where the company don’t bear the travel cost for him. This is the reason why he always buy the midnight flight since it is cheaper. Besides, the roles that was given by his company are mostly the remaining/leftover roles that the company can offer him (he was in so many dramas as a tiny/small character hahaha!). Since he is a person with strong will, he does not want to go through the “under table method” to be famous in the entertainment world. He just want to do his job as an actor and use his martial art skills as he was graduated from Wu Sheng background – he learns martial arts since the age of 10. Just like Jacky Chan, Sammo Hung Kam Po, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, etc, they are from the same Wu Sheng/Wu Shu background which is why he seldom use body double for fighting scenes.

He auditioned for other roles on his own and obtained many roles through his own hard work without his company supports (eg: The Journey of Flower, Love O2O). After his outstanding performance in previous dramas, some Director and Producer approached him for other works as lead and major side roles such as Bu Liang Ren, Guardians of Night, Let’s Shake It, Royal Nirvana, etc. Before Love O2O was released, he was in the midst of terminating his contract with his company and almost success. However, it was put on hold as no one predicted that Love O2O will be so famous, so the company don't want to let him go and ZYC is still bound to the initial contract.

Since HC can’t find male actor to play for Mu Le/Prince A Ying’s character, they approached Zheng Ye Cheng’s company. With the bonus and salary provided by HC, ZYC’s bonus took up to 1/6 of his company profit of the year (this shows that HC paid a lot to ZYC’s company in order to get him to play the male lead character). Since Zheng Ye Cheng is still bound to his company contract, he has to take the lead role regardless to his willingness but fans believed that he is happy to take up this role since he expressed his happiness that he can improve his acting skills through varies characters/transitions. Therefore, audience who watch this drama are to expect more chemistry between female lead and second male lead in the front and middle of the drama. This drama has reached 1.3 billions views in China and majority audience are still rooting for Mu Le/Prince A Ying character because they like his acting, thus feel more empathy to his character although Zhao has all the male lead qualities/more screen time. I have been following all these updates in China website and weibo since this drama first aired. Sorry for the lengthy essay and bad English as it is not my native language.

Not only a cutie, he is handsome and manly according to the progress of his character (from naive to smart to fierce to mature), this makes him a great but underrated actor.

Initially this drama is going to be 30 episodes. The lead casts in the drama other than male lead, Zheng Ye Cheng are not belongs under HC company and company wants to earn more money (more episodes = more views = more money). Therefore, an additional 20 episodes were given to the other lead roles and side roles. This caused both female and male leads have slower relationship build up. However, their relationships are valid and not abrupt, as an audience, you get the chemistry and know how female lead will fall for male lead but it takes time for her to realize her own heart due to the ancient status quo barrier.

Nevertheless, I've watched until 24 episodes and trailer until 30 episodes. Episode 21-24 have slight progress because there are more interaction between Mu Le and Yuan An, their acting skills were superb in those episodes. Other than that, Mu Le will most likely regain his memory and go back to his country after ep 32~35. I can't wait to watch more about their scenes. To be honest, MuLe's acting is one of the best in the show although he has lesser screen time/dialogue which makes him to expressed more in term of facial expression and body language to portray the character.

Even Zheng Ye Cheng who is younger than Luo Jin 12 years is going to act as his older cousin brother. Guess Luo Jin has the baby face haha
