The shows have a very similar vibe, they are both centred at Japanese food businesses, with Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Biyori taking place at a traditional Japanese cafe and Tokyo Seimenjo at an noodle factory. Both shows are about the people who work there, and in each episode, we learn more about them as they cope with struggles or help customers.

Both shows are bl and have a male lead who's colour blind, they see the world in various shades of black, white and grey.
