That's actually her company's fault. They use to milk her fame and throw lesser known actors from the same company in her dramas hence the familiar faces in most of her dramas. They assigned her to a Tencent drama without her consent a few months ago which finally triggered her to leave the company. Hopefully she will have the freedom to chose better projects from now on.

Only less known actresses do those. Yang Mi is one of the biggest actresses in China. She only accepts big projects with a lot of investments(S+) or realistic(more like propaganda) dramas.

Legend of fuyao- also not a modern drama, Yang mi does more costume dramas than modern.

There are some modern movies I like from her tho: The Witness, Fatal Countdown: Reset and You Are My Sunshine.

I didn't expect Yang hua to be sure of his feelings for Qin shi so soon but nice to see how he's honest with himself and her. Man wastes no time🤣 Just as he said in the trailer he is a very responsible and strong man in his own way and doesn't need to brag or be loud about it in order for us to see it.
I don't like how he's being referred by some ppl here as a 'malewife' it is not a very nice term to use and just further confirms to the sexist stereotypes how a wife should act like.

This is one of my favourite dramas this year too! Probably bcoz I feel closer to the characters after reading the novel. There are many things I noticed are different from original plot, yet I love both the novel and drama adaption.
