Oh i saw that differently. To me it seemed like 2ML still loved FL and wanted her back but she was over him although her job demotion caused them to be unavoidably close at the workplace. If you remember when he asked FL to marry him in later eps she refused and he realized the reason FL left him years ago was not only due to his mother not accepting her but also because she lost feelings for 2ML way back.
