I thought he was dead? he was even cremated... but during the last scene in episode 4, why is he alive(being discharged from the hospital) and going back home and at the same time talking to someone and when he boarded off the taxi he suddenly vanished when tonkla turned around ?
Are there really two timelines or Great was just going back and forth to the past to change the outcome of the future ?

Yea you're right. But puhlease, when will Seongmin can make up his mind and choose between the two. Its like he is toying with the feelings of the two. He keeps giving mixed signals with Hwi and Jaesung. So its hard for the two for not getting frustrated. Additionally, bc of Seogmin's indecisiveness, Hwi and JS start some rift between them
Jaesung and Hwi have a lot more chemistry than them being with Seongmin so much honest. If it it werent for Hwis younger age, Jaesung would be all over him. (As per previous episode, Jaesung said that he lost interest with Hwi because of his younger age)
