There are plenty of folks throughout the internet that have pointed out specific scenes and elements of the plot that were incorrect and insensitive on a historical basis. Thus, it is evident that you are actively choosing to be ignorant over this. "For God's sake" some staff from the show itself have came out and said that the criticisms of the show were valid, one even saying that they have a "right" to portray history how they want to. Even the main writer herself said in an interview years ago that she wanted to "fix" the narrative of that era.
Unless you align with that far right who side with the killers and think that the thousands of innocents that died deserved it, the matter of whether this show distorts history is undebatable.
If you want to watch the show, that's your business. You can watch and enjoy the show without trying to actively defend the message it sends. Let's not be dense and abandon morals.
To refer the victims and their families as "purists" demonstrates your lack of understanding or your blatant inhumanity towards the issues of the show you're obviously referring to. ATP there is so much easily accessible information as to why people are upset over that show, thus it is clear you are being willfully ignorant over that matter.
