Well, what can I say. I liked it. It was good but not great. A solid 8.0. Well, I wanted to score it a 8.5 but it just doesn't feel right. It has everything going for it but well, the lack of story is just unforgivable. So yeah ,I likes the settings, the scenery and the vibe but I'm here to watch a drama. Also this 8.0 is a guilty score cuz I'm more comfortable giving this 7.5 or 7.0 but as I said I liked the vibe so yeah.. sorry.
I think Anle/DZY achievements are spread across the entire drama, with HY we get the odd moment of acknowledgment…
Yup. After reading your comment.. I do believe that the script writers are true trolls XD. All of what you said gives justifications but the quality of the justification is just mediocre ain't it. I don't know whether you'll agree but I've come to a conclusion that it's pointless to debate on this matter because of sheer lack of quality in the drama itself.
Well, a solid 8.5. A good all-round drama. Except for the ML, the rest of the cast looked really impressive. Well, the ML will improve as he gets more experienced. Wishing him the best of luck.

Well, there you have it. Bad writing will in the end make characters that should have been likeable unlikeable. Even until the very end Di Ziyuan still tries to manipulate Han ye

Well, you'll have to argue with her on that ..the "greedy" part that is. And I don't agree on her being decisive.
She said she didn't want to anything with Han ye after she left the capital. Also she said she would never have any connections with him anymore. I don't care about what justifications she gave afterwards but she did not follow her own words.
She wanted revenge even if Han ye was good to her and she also swore that she will never stand side by side with Han ye. Well, that aged well didn't it. She's back and guess what she's in the capital trying to get back with him.
She changes her mind more often than not. And her decision to take Anning's strong hold back was more fueled with emotion rather than decisiveness.
Even tho "Anle" was a creation of Di Ziyuan. That character had more depth. While her true character "Di Ziyuan" was a bore, melancholic and just depressing to watch. As a character Di Ziyuan is actually quite dislikeable.
And I do agree Han Ye never really lived for himself. Constantly living in fear. Balancing two forces Di and Hans. Taking the most decisive "jump" that I've ever seen tho. He remained the crown prince and was willing to remain that way until he drew his last breath. That's what makes his character so likeable. He lived true to his character, role and responsibility.

Well, I don't think this is a story of achievements. I still see them not as equals. Han ye had done too much for Di Ziyuan and still remains a person willing to do anything. The struggle to find balance in fulfilling his duty as a prince and as a friend is shown more times than not.
Di Ziyuan was a disappointment tho. A character that just kept on being indecisive. It is only at the end that she is willing to be "Greedy". I mean that's what she said not me.
I always liked when the two main leads got together. However, there are some dramas that I feel that main leads should go their own separate paths not because of achievements or skill but it's just that they don't suit eachother. This is that kind of story.
FL has more screentime than ML, and most of the "audience" view of things is from her standpoint...that's why…
Having more screen time doesn't mean anything tho when you're part of the Main lead band wagon. What matters is the impact.
Di Ziyuan captured those cities not Ren anle. And I disagree about the "audience view" from being her standpoint. There are moments where other characters too get that as well. So it isn't something special only to her.
Look at the prince instead. He protected Di Ziyuan, got punished for her. Protected her brother. Fought on the front lines. He shared no hatred towards Di Ziyuan after his Grandmother died. He kept drawing her painting to remember her face or rather imagine what she looked like (he failed miserably tho). Although doing all of that Di Ziyuan would rather have him marry someone else. Manipulate him and all in the name of Revenge.
Yup, I think this story actually belongs to the crown prince rather than Anle...well I mean Di Ziyuan.
Hit or a miss? Well, to answer your question...it comes down to whether you enjoyed it or not. Personally, I don't know what to say. It's a such a mix bag. The first few episodes sought of made it look like a comedic and corruption fighting story. But then it totally shifted to this Melo kinda, vengeful and depressing drama. Well, it's still at that stage. As a whole I feel like they missed the point. I felt like Han Ye was more at the centre of the plot than Ren Anle ...lol I mean Di Ziyuan. So is that why it's called "legend of Anle" because she never existed to begin with or is it that Ren anle's story is already a part of legend.
To simply put it, I don't like this story. It's not like it's a bad one but a rather a story that I don't really find impressive.
Well, now for the good part of things. Acting is excellent by the cast. Especially the actor who acted as Luo Minxi. At the beginning he made himself look more of a villain than any other villain. But, then again... I was thinking, wouldn't he have been a better villain. Anyways... Oh GOD. I'm starting to criticize it again. Haha 😆.
For now my score will be 7.5
Update: I've scored this a 7.0. overall, a mediocre drama that's somewhat saved some grace due to the cast.
