Is this another excuse to show the typical male fantasy of possessing/enslaving/humiliating a woman?
Why do you think that's the typical male fantasy?

True. However, a king, once king, if he can control it, isn't going to allow himself to be a puppet. It's common sense.

Title The Queen Who Crowns Spoiler
The king is ruthless. If the queen thinks he will compromise or share power, she is severely mistaken. She asks him to beg, and he kills his preferred concubine right in front of her to demonstrate he isn't screwing around. As ahistorical as that scene was, it demonstrates that Yi Bang Won would never share power with a queen, whether he loved her or not, especially after he saw his father's relationship with his step-mother and how she manipulated him to foolishly appoint a pre-teen as crown prince of a new dynasty when he had more than 3 competent adult sons.

You might be right about her, but you have no clue as to her family. Just like every other royal in-laws in historical dramas and reality they try to dominate the king and they try to control the young heir to be friendly to their family's corruption, even when it hurts the common people. It's just people seeking their own self-interest. Just like almost any queen, she will try to protect her family even when they are doing wrong.

literally. put a man in power and all of a sudden he forgets all that you’ve done for him 😭 I feel so bad…
A king does not share power. Neither did most successful queens. It has nothing to do with sex.

I wann queen to raise to the throne n have a male concubine n king should beg her to sleep with him.
lol. The entire problem is that the queen wants her family to be stronger than the king. Using her family to help him become king was good but a king must be a king. The phrase "People say, when all the rabbits have been hunted, the hunting dog will be killed" comes to mind. Her family was useful to get the king in power, but now they're a hinderance and want to dominate the king.

This actually became a serious problem later in Joseon and it is no suprise that early Joseon kings wanted to avoid this.

is the king delusional or is it me?! because how can he be thus upset that his father tried to kill him when HE…
Taesangwang wanted to put his preteen son on the throne when the country's foundation wasn't solid. That is not in the best interest of the people since the ministers would be controlling the boy and the king would be weak, literally the same system they overthrew Goryeo. That's at least one justification that Taejong had.

Title Special Lady
One episode in and china already surprises me with their casual fat shaming as if a fat bride is undesirable.…
They are undesirable.

If GJS knows the order to conquer Nanzhou was a fake order to kill General Zhou, why wouldn't he tell him that?…
People said similar things about Till the End of the Moon as well. If the 40 episode limit is a problem, then producers need to split the show into 2 parts or seasons, with episodes evenly split, say around 25 episodes each.

The new episodes have been STELLAR. i even think they are outdoing themselves in this last arc. rarely has a cdrama…
Disagree that the episodes have been stellar. If GJS knows the order to conquer Nanzhou was a fake order to kill General Zhou, why wouldn't he tell him that? If an enemy makes a failed attempt on your life, they are sure to make another. General Zhou would have rushed back to take the throne with justification or at least the Zhou family could have fled to safety like the Gu family. Lazy writing.

Some really bad writing these past 2 episodes.
If GJS knows the order to conquer Nanzhou was a fake order to kill General Zhou, why wouldn't he tell him that? If an enemy makes a failed attempt on your life, they are sure to make another and on your family. General Zhou would have rushed back to take the throne with justification or at least the Zhou family could have fled to safety like the Gu family.

For some reason the writers made the characters dumb for the last 2 episodes.

Title Pledge of Allegiance Spoiler
Will Li Wu and Lu Zheng work together or are they go up against each other the whole time?
There is a big reconcilation in episode 12, and they seem like best buds. Li Wu found out Lu Zheng freed him from prison but Lu Zheng doesn't know that Li Wu "killed"his father.
