When I was reading the book it was not clear who was losing who forever. When I finished the book the poignancy hits me that the title is from Xiao Yao's perspective of losing Xiang Liu forever. She loved him deeply but could not express it as he did not encourage it because both knew it was doomed from the start given their warring enemy background and challenging circumstances. XL would be great lover but poor husband material and so XY chose Tu Shan Jing who would give up everything for her. XY would have been comforted knowing that XL, who could have been her soulmate, at least still existed in the world but a part of her died when XL perished horribly and even his images that XY saved in her memory mirror disappeared. Truly lost him forever.

The comments here interpret the title 'Lost you forever' as coming from Zhuan Xu's perspective of losing Xiao Yao at the end but I see it differently as in my spoiler below.

I just finished reading the novel and was feeling gloomy because I was so caught up in the whole story and now thanks to you I can start all over again in pictorial form.

Nice overview. However in the novel it's not even clear when she starts liking him, the author is very stingy in that department or like you said it could be lost in translation. Do you know when? Otherwise it feels like stockholm syndrome where the captive yields to the captor's sexual appetite and it feels somewhat yucky to me.

When I said 'grabbing what he wants' I was not referring to grabbing her wrist, LOL. At one point Xie Wei stripped off her clothes, threw her into the bathtub I think and then raped her. I call it rape because it did not seem like there was any willingness on the FL's part other than being powerless to defend herself. I'm surprised by what you said about Chinese novels because this has not been my experience. I've read Who rules the world, The longest promise. Love you seven times, Back from the brink, Legend of Fu Yao, Hidden love to name a few and sure there is violence but not sexual violence by the ML.

I have mixed feelings about this story. I'm reading the novel but I don't get the romance. It's just the ML/Xie Wei grabbing what he wants whether the FL/Jiang Xue Ning wants it or not. He is forcing himself on her and she acquiesces because she is too frightened of him. Now I'm only reading the machine translated version so maybe I'm reading it wrong but I don't see any comments about this. What if the ML is ugly would people put up with this behavior? Then again the drama may make the ML behave better.

She has to remove the evil bone first before his death.
