Thank-you so much for sending me the website with people's comments about the book. I like the drama very much and the book sounds so different and would spoil the loveliness of the drama. This is a rare example of a drama being better than the book. I'll rewatch the drama instead as first time around I think I missed a lot of details.

Has anyone read the book? Is it worthwhile to read it and is it as good as the drama?

People thought that the FL, being all alone for years on the mountain, became mental and was hallucinating. In fact she really did see those spirits and it was Mr. Zhu's spirit ( not exactly sure of the name), the martial arts expert on Lishan mountain, that took over her body to do the fighting.

What is CX's full name? Chinese names are hard enough without having to deal with initials, except for the leads, and quite often each character has multiple names. You are saying that there were 2 fires, one set up by the late emperor and a second fire set up by the crown princess? So the late emperor wanted to kill his consort as well as the crown prince? Very confusing.

Thank-you! I was hesitant to read it before, because I have a hard time visualizing romance with a woman who butchers pigs and gets splattered in pigs' blood. I almost do not want to watch the drama if not for Zhang Ling He.

Is the book good to read? Quite often when I watch cdramas I miss the details that help towards understanding the drama better.

The novel sounds like a better story than the drama where relationships are concerned. I would love a Wuyin and Taohua love arc for diversion.

So ML falls for her first and yet he is all too ready to kill her. He sounds demented.

She leaves him! Good, he has been nothing but cruel to her.

Looks can be deceiving. Wait till you see him in action.

I share your sentiments about LYN not being an ideal ML lacking somewhat in the looks department. I will take note to watch it in the near future as right now I'm waiting for the princess's gambit which is supposed to drop anytime now and that's one ML that I find real appealing.

Wow! How did the rating get so high? I gave up after the first few episodes so I wonder if I should give it another try? Previously, I did not feel the chemistry between the 2 leads.
