I agree that the osts were not giving or hitting as it should be, I need me some heartwrenching osts like Yearning by Mao Bu Yi in ALP and Free-floating by Zhou Shen in BFTB. These kind of osts were my tears starter pack esp in the mandatory dying scenes of the leads 🥹

one of the reasons this got stuck in 8.9 instead of increasing to 9.0 is that some viewers thought Tang Lian got killed for good, they did not know he came back alive in the special ep.
So he is the director, this will have those signature camera angles that comes off as weird to some viewers. And oh my those blinding kissing scene from using too much lights, wished it will not happen here
The narrator at the beginning introducing the world of Outsiders and the Eight Supreme Skills definitely nailed his profession. The voice narration is so good.
