After they came out of the cocoon, the human's identity was divided between the two of them. Li Jie got the physical strength but zero memories of being a demon, while the other Yuan Wuhuo kept the magic and his memory.

When the butterfly demon revealed himself to Li Jie. We see an explosion of someone running and also see their eyes, that definitely Ji Ling eyes. So I’m assuming that Yuan Wu Huo is Ji Ling’s brother.
