Doesn't make sense how dan ah is holding onto a guy from an arranged marriage who she met a few times before getting married as a teenager. Yes they might have met as kids a few times but she didn't really know anything abt his personality or get to know him well. You change so much in ur 20s but the screenwriters believe she didn't? For a decade she is still obsessed with him? Unrealistic.

She's in the hospital and the first thing she does is ask about the soldier who saved her and fall in love with him. Good samaritans can't even save someone, lest they fall in love them lol. I have a feeling this one's gonna get worse.

An adaptation never adds anything to the source material, its just molded into what the writer and director want it to be. I doubt leaving out all the issues and making a "lighthearted" version will add viewers, in exchange it might turn off viewers. If they don't really have a story to tell and just want to sell a fluffy pairing, there are countless other series doing the same. This just becomes a part of the pile. What separated it from others originally IS the source material, now its just meh. They could've easily written an og story with all these elements instead of buying an ip and taking out its essence.

So in conclusion. they took out all issues, didn't want to tell a story with depth but just sell a pairing. Also the og writer didnt have a say in it as far as i know and apparently doesnt like the live action.

Can't stand the stoicness of both mcs in the first ep. And the running on treadmill scene? Bro is not an athlete at all. Still he was a bit better than the other guy at acting out the first meeting.

Yeah at first they were setting him up as an older figure and friend only, talking about his daughter and everything. and suddenly getting into a relationship with a high school girl is so jarring. I dont understand that decision.

Because the bestie didn't "steal" him, he chose to cheat because he was greedy. He deserves every ounce of hate for messing up so many lives and cheating someone out of theirhome.

Again a woman paying for the sins of the men in her family. All the burden being on her bcos ofc, all these men do is brand every woman with the same fate of her family and use them as tools. I wish we could have a story about women like xiaoqao leaving their family and rejecting marriage to rise on their own(and idc if its not realistic).

A very good episode. I just hope the writing subverts everybody's expectations about jaeil and sabi and all 4 of them remain good friends.

Maybe the show will find.a way to revert on what its potraying right now with later episodes but what the characters are doing in this ep does not leave a good taste in my mouth especially how they're treating the mc as if she is the bane of everyone's existence bcos of some weight.

Whats with the whiplash? The cuts are so random and they just randomly get sad and angry and suddenly scene switches to them being happy again. Storyline didnt make sense at all for this ep, the structure and pacing was messed up. I enjoyed their moments so much, would've liked more instead of this kind of ending. The silence after someone asked them a question was getting on my nerves too. Buildup of tension was really good but they wasted it.

Here you people go again with the "reality" of all people being straight. The fact is that this was NOT a story about those people, it was a story about Heesu. You kept talking about the passions of the side character but you couldn't point out anything about seungwon yourself. Think on why that is! Straight people around heesu should have been depicted as side characters of HIS story, not him being a side to his friend's love story and character development. It is not necessary at all for queer stories be buried under straight romances just to their stories can go mainstream, and if thats the way you want to achieve that, then the stories will forever be treated as side pieces to heteronormativity. You talked about fleshing out the sisters. How? Because they gave us one scene about each of them and their relationships? At least their dynamic was was good enough. You can stamp on whatever meaning you want to the tennis and guitar storylines, but they were both shallow and just a tool to add more to the people who were not supposed to the main mcs. The story didn't discuss and flesh out any heavy topics which queer teenagers actually go through except the last few scenes of him coming out. They keep chickening out of that. Even with endless metaphors you cant save a messy and contrived story.

They never intended to use the story to depict queer people as a normal part of the world, there is no need for added straight characters to do that, what should've been done is building the world around the existing queer characters and depicting it without taking away time from their story. They added extra couples just to make the drama more digestible to the tv execs. Queer life is not just romance, but its also not an excuse to use other characters and add nonsensical storylines, its about them discovering themselves. The only 2 queer characters this show bothered to add, they didnt even flesh out one of them. Seungwon was a bland character with no story given to him, they didnt even show more of who he was in favor of the tennis and music career of others. Doesnt that seem odd to you? We knew next to nothing about one of the queer main mc's except who he had a crush on. Till the end the gay ml was apologizing to the straight friend(who he used to like) for coming out to him, thats not the "heartwrenching gay ml" you are making him out to be. The story was messy, pacing issues were bad, screentime distribution was even worse not to mention how they handled the characters and adapted them. The creative liberties they took with the source material were terrible. This is a show that should get criticism and i dont get why you are acting otherwise.

Ah yes i gave the anime a try long ago but didn't like it that much. I find the thai adaptations of jdramas very lacking mostly because keep casting people who don't suit the characters and copy paste the storyline. I love seeing original scripts more, but that has been a rarity in drama world nowadays.

If you read the webtoon you'll know the actual story abt donald, everything is fleshed out and makes sense, their friendship development is way better too.

Is top form an adaptation of already existing jdrama or are u talking about the manga? Because all the others had a jdramas and not just the manga to adapt. I would love to watch the japanese version of top form if it exists.
