In the synopsis, the FL and ML are from the same generation and their masters were from opposing sides with the ML betraying the FL by pushing her off a cliff to save his master. FL is then saved by the master of a demonic cult and becomes his successor while ML became the successor of his master on the Right Path. In MXS Thousand Autumns, the ML(YWS) and the MC(SQ) are from different generations. YWS is from SQ's master's generation. SQ is from a younger generation than YWS although they are both leaders of their respective sects. SQ was then invited to battle another character and fell off a cliff due to the scheming of the people surrounding him. YWS discovered SQ at the bottom of the cliff where he was passed out and brought him back due to the various rumours of SQ's supposed purity and his relations to SQ's master. When SQ woke up he lost his memories and powers, YWS took full advantage of that, always trying to tarnish the purity that existed in SQ and always trying to make SQ miserable. But SQ remembered some of the good things that he felt YWS did for him and when he was abandoned and thrown away by YWS he did not hold a grudge although he stopped trusting YWS. YWS shortly then became ill due to his cultivation method and SQ stepped in to help, YWS also had some moments of split personality. YWS realized that he has already fallen in love with SQ and his pureness and then he begins his pursuit of SQ. Secondly, in TA, YWS is from the demonic fraction while SQ was from the righteous fraction, in this drama the FL is from the demonic fraction and the ML is from the righteous fraction. Also, another point of similarity is that there is a battle of the masters at the start. In TA, YWS battled against SQ's master while in this drama it's the FL and ML's masters battling each other.
