Ah yes, A Superior Day is also on my list, but this one seems cooler because it looks like it will have a bit of social commentary and, well, Kim Dong Wook is one of my favorite actors as well ahah. But who knows, maybe I will end up liking A Superior Day more than The King of Pigs (?)

On one hand I agree, because I was also dissapointed by this drama and I think that reviews that are too positive or too negative are always misleading, but on the other hand I also gave a 10 to the tv shows that I loved the most because it's still something subjective.
But still, it would be better if people also took the potential flaws into account when writing a review or when leaving a comment.

For those who already watched it: does it really deserve the low ratings?

The show is based on the book written by the profiler involved in the cases, it's not like they can change history. But I still think that there are plenty of moments in which you see how profiling works, even in the early episodes (If I remember correctly they catched the pedo because MC was able to profile the killer). Also keep in mind that profiling was still new in Korea, they were still learning, that's why the interviews are even more important for the show than the investigation itself, just like in Mindhunter.

How do you decide what's the best thriller ever made when there are so many good ones? It's impossible ahah.
But yes, it really is as good as people are saying. But it depends on what you're looking for: if you want a whodunnit with many plot twists and lots of action then look elsewhere, but if you want a slow and dense story that focuses on profiling, interrogations and the psychological effects of dealing with criminals while also giving lots of informations on serial killers then it's exactly the show for you.
Think of it as the Korean Mindhunter.

Mouse is my favourite too, but I don't think they are that similar though. They are polar opposites in terms of storyline with Mouse being the story of a redemption and Strangers from Hell the story of a descent into madness

I don't know if every case is based on reality, but I know that at least one of them is (the one with the red hammer)

Do you think that Taxi Driver is shallow in terms of characters? I was thinking to start it soon, but I dislike it when characters aren't fully fleshed out

I haven't watched the show and I agree with the second half of your comment, but the first half? So how are people like me, who are unsure whether to start it or not, supposed to get an idea of what's it's like if only positive comments are allowed? People should learn to face criticism in a civil manner without throwing insults, that's what you should have said. If someone throws a tantrum because their favorite show was slightly criticized then it's their own fault.

I agree with everything you said. I dropped it the first time after 5 episodes, then I started watching again and finished it because of the reviews. But as someone who has watched tons of thrillers this series barely felt like one. Yes, it had thriller elements but I felt that it wasn't nearly as intense as people make it out to be. At times I even thought it was a bit overdramatic with the soundtrack trying to hype up a scene that would have been better without the music.

Overall I think it's more for people who wants to watch intense romances with the main couple having to face many struggles and with some thriller elements that adds mystery, plot twist and a bit of suspense than for those who are looking for a dark thriller that gets deep inside the criminal minds and the horrors of having to face a killer.

But they have literally the same rating though, hospital playlist is just slightly above

I didn't like those twists either, not really a fan of the typical "he's not bad, he's just misunderstood" type of storyline. The only show that did it well was Beyond Evil for me.
