The drama is set to premiere on April 18 due COVID-19.https://www.soompi.com/article/1517606wpp/the-king-of-pigs-cancels-promotional-activities-as-kim-sung-kyu-tests-positive-for-covid-19
"However, further events for “The King of Pigs” have been canceled. A source from TVING stated, “We have decided to cancel the scheduled Twitter Blueroom, stage greetings for the premiere, and GV to prevent further spread of COVID-19.”
The article only mentions cancelling promotional activities that would have involved physical contact, but it doesn't mention that the premiere date has been delayed.
I think they should have released at least the first two episodes together, because it looks like next episode will be much more interesting than the first one. This episode wasn't enough to get a good idea of what it's going to be like.
Everyone is talking about this drama these days and I WAS excited for it the moment I heard about it; my favourite…
To be honest, the first episodes were my favourites: they were intriguing and mysterious (even if a bit over the top), toward the end it kinda lost its charm for me; but it also gets more action packed, if this interests you. The first episodes seemed like a legal drama set in a dystopian world, while the second half of the show focuses more on the revenge with more action scenes and plot twists.
i was about to start it but whats up with the top reviews..?? lol
Don't mind them, they're from people who didn't know that the show is a true crime, which means that it follows real life events quite accurately, without any dramatization and plot twists. Think of it as the Korean Mindhunter.
Please don't turn it into a war between Mouse and Through The Darkness. Both shows are great, although they are…
Oh yes, I absolutely agree on the reviews: I got so pissed off that I downvoted all the negative ones and upvoted all the positive ones because it just wasn't fair. As you said, I'm fine with negative opinions (I would go as far as saying that we need negative opinions to get a more objective idea) but those were just dumb because they didn't take into account at all the fact that this drama is a true crime showing the growth of profiling in South Korea, so it isn't meant to be dramatized, action packed and plot heavy. They also criticized the acting and I was like what? Even the actors playing the killers were perfect and they looked so much like the real ones that it's scary. But I still hope that this mess that happened yesterday doesn't create any tension between the two fanbases because I think that both shows are top tier (at least for me).
this is the scariest drama after SAve Me and The Guest for me. Eerie and violent. trigger warning for suicidal…
I was considering watching because The Guest is one of my absolute favorites, so I would really like to watch something similar. So thank you for your thoughts!
I was considering starting this, how does it compare to the highest rated thrillers/horrors like Strangers from Hell, Beyond Evil, The Guest, Mouse and Save me? Is it as good?
It's interesting how Mind hunter gets raving reviews in America and many parts of the world but many people seem…
I think that we shouldn't forget that they are still a minority (although a very loud one at the moment, unfortunately), the ratings aren't that bad actually. I personally think that this show will be remembered as an excellent one, despite some people claiming that it's boring. After all, I remember many people that said the same things about Mindhunter as well (I couldn't convince any of my friends to watch it because they thought it was all talk and no action, which is true, but they completely missed what made it so good); once the hype calms down we will probably be getting more objective reviews, I think, because less people will start it without knowing what they're getting into. I agree with you on the reviews: I'm fine with people not liking the show and giving it lower ratings because no show is without flaws, but the criticisms have to make sense and the reviews here are completely lacking context. It's like reading a true crime novel and complaining because you were expecting a mistery novel by Agatha Christie, it's not a valid criticism.
Can't talk for others, but I brought in my comment Taxi Driver not because it's a drama I personally disliked,…
As someone who gave Mouse a 10 (even though I recognize its flaws) and who will probably give this one a 10 too if the last two episodes are on par with the level that we've gotten in this second half (it won't be anything less than a 9 for me even if the ending is somehow underwhelming): there is just one comment criticizing Mouse, the rest are just saying that they are on polar opposites like you said, so if they watch this show expecting something like Mouse then the blame is on them (likewise, if they watch Mouse expecting something realistic the blame is on them because it was clear from the premise that it didn't want to be realistic)
Please don't turn it into a war between Mouse and Through The Darkness. Both shows are great, although they are very different. The fact that people are acting unreasonably doesn't mean that we have to act like them
It's so hilarious how people who enjoy dramas like "Mouse" are coming here and shitting on this drama because…
I absolutely love Mouse, it's one of my favorite show, but I'm also loving Through The Darkness, it's everything I wanted it to be honestly. I don't understand why people are acting like this. I can understand criticisms and lower votes like 5 or 6. But giving it a 4 (or a 1, seriously?) and talking as if it's the worst show ever seems absurd to me.
Come on, the reviews are getting ridiculous, seriously. I dislike Flower of Evil, but I still gave it a 6 because I recognize that it's not a bad show. How can someone give this show a 4? If you're going to write a review at least try to be objective please. It's series like Mindhunter, based on real life events and how profiling started in South Korea: if you wanted a thriller full of plot twists with a mind-blowing plot and dramatized situations why did you start in the first place? Why complain about how the events unfolded and how the cases were solved when it happened just like they happened in real life? Why complain about it being slow when it was obvious from the premise that it was going to be like this? I really don't want to sound rude, but the nasty reviews are being unfair and aren't taking into account what the show is actually about.
I still don't understand how it's possible that this drama has only an 8.4 as a rating, it deserves more (it was a 10 for me, not saying that it should be a ten for everybody, but I was expecting at least something above 8.5, not below)
The article only mentions cancelling promotional activities that would have involved physical contact, but it doesn't mention that the premiere date has been delayed.
