As I said, what bothered me is that you turned into something much bigger than it was really. Of course the mean comments aren't justified, but it's only a few comments that weren't even personally insulting you, so I don't understand why you would go and say "guys look, they're bullying me" just for this. I never said that you were looking for a fight, I just said that you could have phrased it better to avoid troubles because you know how people on the internet are like and if you start your opinion with "lol boring" of course someone could take it the wrong way. Please note that I'm not blaming you for your comment, this is just my opinion on why people took it badly. Also, I still don't understand where's the problem in my reply (?), It's not like I called you an idiot or said that you didn't understand anything, that was just your assumption, so where's the problem? I just wanted to understand your point of view better, so I started by sharing mine. You can't just choose what types of replies you're going to get on your comment, of course if you say "wow this show is boring" you're going to get people who agree with you, but you may also get people who try to defend their favorite show or who, directly or indirectly, ask you to elaborate further. Again, I don't want to justify the few mean comments that you received, but I still think that you can't consider that bullying and that you could have been a bit more tactful in your criticism. Anyway,, it's done now, no point indulging on it. I can only speak for myself so: I'm sorry if you felt offended by my reply, it wasn't my intention at all
from 9.3 to 8.5 -__- ...umm lets hope it rises again to 9.0 or something.
Yeah, I hope the ratings will increase as more episodes gets released. Judging from the teasers we had it seems like it will be a wild ride. Anyway 8.5 is not that bad when you look at the ratings of other airing tv shows, it seems normal.
With all due respect, and I didn't mean to write this comment at first because at the end of the day everyone has their own taste, but I just saw your post on the feeds about how you were bullied here (?!) and you even posted the screenshots, so I just want to ask: don't you think you're making a mountain out of a molehill? Have you seen the comment section of other popular shows here? This is like a regular day on MDL (and on the internet in general). I'm sorry, but comparing something like this to straight up bullying feels iffy to me as someone who actually experienced bullying in middle school and who also experienced trivial fights on the internet like this one, and trust me: they're not on the same level (unless someone is harassing you right now and personally insulting you, but this isn't the case of the comments here that you posted on the feeds). You also didn't really seem interested in having a civil conversation or an exchange of opinions about the show (as you somehow even got offended by me replying to you on a platform that is born to encourage discussions, so I kinda wonder why did you even share your thoughts if you didn't want to see anyone disagreeing with you), may I say that your comment sounded a bit tactless? Don't get me wrong, I don't want to say that you were purposefully trying to start a fight, but your comment could have easily been mistaken as such: for example, I made a comment on A Superior Day that was more or less what you said here about this show, and nothing happened because I tried my best not to sound rude and unrespectful toward those who are liking it; sometimes the way you say things matters a lot, especially when you're writing it and no one can hear your tone. Anyway, I'm sorry if you received other comments that were unrespectful or offensive, I hope people aren't bothering you right now.
Well the show started airing thé ratings will prob rise up when the show will finish airing
Yes, the missing international platform is the biggest problem right now: I've met a lot of people that were waiting for it, but didn't even know it started. Let's see how it goes
Lol what is this uneventful boring monolog.. it's a dude that was bullied, with some anger and resentment issues.…
No problem with criticism, but it genuinely seems that we watched two different shows ahah. A lot happened in these two episodes: they set the whole story in motion, with all the mysteries that will be solved later and the hints of something yet untold that happened in the past. You see Kyung Min getting bullied in the past, you see that he planned the murders after something triggered him, you see that his wife found out and tried to commit a double suicide, but he survived and now he has nothing to lose anymore so he starts his plan and commit his first murder while the police catches up to him. You also see that he won't stop here and he's going to kill everyone that bullied him, the police now knows this and will try to stop him at all cost. It seems more than enough for two episodes of 40 minutes each in a show that still has ten episodes left, I've seen slower set ups tbh. The whole story is about bullying, it's in the premise, so I don't understand where's the problem with "a dude that was bullied with some anger and resentment issues" when the whole purpose of the drama is to show how bullying never ends for the victims who will forever be affected by the trauma while the bullies can move on. And it's clear that the police at first thought it was a double suicide planned by Kyung Min, but then it's revealed that it was his wife's doing and so they had to understand just who this Kyung Min is, what does he want to do and why his wife wanted to end things. They start the investigations, they get to know his past, they figure out that he has planned to go on a revenge killing spree but they fail to prevent his first murder; now that they know they will probably try to get immediately in touch with the bullies before Kyung Min. I don't know why you phrased it as if somehow this wasn't clear.
I feel like the detective is the person who he keeps imagining that tells him what to do that's y he keeps leaving…
At first I thought so too, but after I rewatched a few scenes it seems like there's a third kid. In the photo that Hwang Kyung Min is looking at there seems to be a third child with him and Jong Suk, but his face is covered by one of the boys hands. And in the scene where Kyung Min is getting bullied in front of Jong Suk, the one where they force him to crawl, you can see that there is another kid watching, he appears briefly and his face is mostly covered by his arms so you can see only his eyes, but the camera stops on him a bit as if he's going to be a more important character in the future.
Well the show started airing thé ratings will prob rise up when the show will finish airing
Yes, this will probably happen, you're right. It's just that this type of dramas (dark, gloomy, heavy subjects) is usually very underrated, so I hope it won't fall down too much because generally people are more likely to give a chance to shows that have higher ratings.
Lost is such a masterpiece. Never thought I would feel so strongly for the show when it began. I think watching…
Lost is a 10/10 for me, I was so invested in that show that I'm praying that either this one or Our Blues can fill that void ahah.
Yes, I agree, but the problem for me is that it's almost never clear: most of the times you just have a character that keeps to themselves and then they fall in love or form a connection with someone and they completely change personality, but it was never suggested that they were extroverted and/or happy go lucky in the first place. Anyway I'm praying for this to be good because from the teasers it looks so strong
Aw, but why are the ratings dropping when it's such a good show? It's giving me flashback from when I was watching Through The Darkness and the ratings dropped a lot for no reason
I'm intrigued by this drama, but I hope that it won't be yet another one of those shows where introversion is seen as a bad thing and the introverted changes into an extroverted at the end of the drama as if it's something that you need to get rid of (I liked My Mister, but I couldn't like the ending because of this reason). Lost is still the most introverted friendly show I've watched, so I hope that this drama will be similar.
I think that even without watching the movie you get a sense that the story is going to be tragic without much hope. I know that Kdramas usually have an happy ending (there are exceptions of course), but right now I just can't see this one getting an happy one
Do I feel bad for those assholes? No way in hell. But this is painful to watch, damn.
Yes, only two episodes and the show is already open to interpretation: on one hand you understand Kyung Min because what he went through was traumatic and it's hard to feel sorry for those bullies, on the other hand he gave up his chance of being happy with his wife (because it's heavily implied that he was already planning to get his revenge, and of course his wife would have never accepted something like that) and he involved the bully's family, including his child who is innocent, into his plan by taking the bully to his house so his family could watch him in that state. He's certainly a grey character and it feels like he's hurting himself as much as the bullies.
I don't know why, but I can't seem to get into this show. I don't feel anything for any character after two episodes, they are just there doing their things but I don't care what happens to them. It feels too generic, like the moment that guy decided to help the ML after telling him his tragic backstory I instantly knew he was going to die to further the male lead's grief. Maybe it would have been better if the episodes were shorter? With this type of shows the pacing should be tighter to give a better sense of how high the stakes are and of the time that is running out, but here after 2 episodes out 8 it still feels like the story hasn't started yet, those two episodes could have been condensed into one honestly.
That music is constantly banging in the background and it is also unjustifiably intense. The scenes are intense…
I don't really agree because I liked how they used the music in those moments, but I still upvoted because this is one the most valid criticisms I read here.
