I think is more than that, it is the fact that he needs to settle his self as a good crown prince on his own despite…
I also think that there has been romance. While it is not hot and heavy it is there. A kind that is subtle as the leads build trust and find companionship in each other. Intimacy isnāt always physical or outwards.
I wonder why the title is "Our Blooming Youth" and the poster is so romantic when 60% of the story is about nasty…
While it is a bit annoying that romance is listed as a genre and we only get little scenes indirectly hinting at it, the definition of blooming has little to do with romance. Blooming as a verb is to ācome into or be in full beauty\healthā. I think thatās what the character development is doing. We see a CP who took on the title bc of his brotherās death. While he is a prince he did not grow up with the idea that he would take on that title. Upon being crowned he gets this letter that strips him of any trust. His father teaches him to doubt everyone/ thing. But as the episodes unfold and he gains this crew of friends, he is blooming into his roll as the CP. He is learning to trust, learning to use his talent as a way to gain political influence, and showing that he is a well round CP.
The side characters are too each growing into their talents.
