i personally believe that when a live-action/anime is being adapted from another source, it has to have a sort of sincerity towards the source material. and it can be in any form - if not character design, then at least the personalities. but this drama lowk failed in both these aspects!!! the bullying/bullied motivations seemed acceptable enough in the manga, but don't come out to be as fleshed out in the drama... and that should've been enough reason for them to not do a drama at all. if you can't do justice to the source, then the 'readergroup' will be disappointed. but again, each to their own. i'm free to feel disappointed and you're equally free to like it😭💓

im trying to understand and enjoy this show but i feel it's missing something. idk maybe its an emotional gap between the two leads or just simply the pace. i would've probably enjoyed it more if it were not a bl (LEGIT THE FIRST TIME IM SAYING THIS) and focused more on shunsuke's personal character development /overcoming hurdles. the top, ik gives him that courage and push but i don't see a lot of chemistry....or maybe it's the extremely visible age gap T-T that stops me from seeing them in a more romantic light idkkkkkk....i usually really like jbs but im probably gonna sleep on this one!!

in the webtoon...basically harin and jaeun were non-biological sisters. harin was an orphan before jaeun's mom decided to take her in. the mom had a bf who was leeching off of her and told the mom to give up one of the girls to an orphanage. harin and jaeun (who were really intent on staying with each other) heard this (they were nice kids) and harin was like lets poison the bf...so she mixed pesticide into the bf's soju. BUT JA EUN ENDED UP SNITCHING?? AND TOLD THE BF (she didn't want harin to become a criminal TT)...so harin ultimately ended up in the orphanage where she was assaulted and abused like shit before being adopted as a replacement for the baek family's dead daughter....
idrk but this drama has kinda gotten a bit boring for some reason...like there is always something going on or someone's always conspiring against the leads and they somehow always fall for it... LIKE WTF... i want more feel-good moments TT

Each season in the webtoon had a new (major/minor) obstacle that they had to overcome (I read it while the webtoon was releasing so that's probably why I felt it was disconnectedly connected??; if you get what I mean). And given its length, I could see my characters grow. But to me, the drama felt like I was taking leaps in time spaces, the mother being in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. I would've liked to see them as people in a relationship, NOT A CLOSETED GAY COUPLE WHOSE MOTHER IS SOMEHOW KEEPS COMING IN BETWEEN SCENES. And about that long trembling lips, etc., I cannot agree more. If the show gets a second season, I hope there is better direction and time allocation. T-T
