Once we get to revenge arc I know people will criticise LBY or even hate him and want CSS to end up with someone else. I mean I might too if I were CSS. But as a passerby watching their stories unfold, and knowing both sides of the story, I still think they're perfect for each other. I just hope that the drama will explore and execute the latter part of the story well.
In conclusion idc if people calling me LBY apologist lmao.
What is your favorite Consort Yue's roast? Mine is when she scolded 3rd princess: "You're a phoenix. Don't dress yourself like a wild chicken. If you have too much money on your hands, you should buy a big mirror so that you can see yourself".
Two things that I really look forward to see in the drama (and probably will make me bawl my eyes out) are when…
I've been rereading that part so many times my heart break for both of them they are so pitiful. One side of me wanted shaoshang to reject him but I also want the them to be together. I think the author did a very good job writing their reconciliation, which was not easy at all, but made us understand where each character stands nevertheless.

Ling Buyi was exiled after he got his revenge so their engagement got called off and they're separated for 5 years. Shaoshang was so heartbroken and it wasn't easy for her to forgive him.

To emperor: Your Majesty, in this life, you are worthy of the country, the people, the people, and even me. Only Sister Yue, you have failed her." (Emperor had to marry other woman)
To Consort Yue: "If you weren't you, I wasn't me, if we were just sisters, how great would it be..."
Two things that I really look forward to see in the drama (and probably will make me bawl my eyes out) are when Ling Buyi begged Shaoshang to be not so cruel to him and Empress Xuan's last speech to the Emperor and Consort Yue.
I really can't wait but also don't want to see Ling Buyi goes berserk 😭😭
Watched the trailer and I know we're approaching the angst probably I won't be watching next week episodes I'll just reread the novel and reminding myself that the angst all will pass 🥺😭😭
They really made a drama where the temperature rises are not when they kissed but 1) pulling out an arrow 2) teaching one about point of acupressure 3) ambushing your girl from behind when she's trespassing your military camp. Gosh.
It's the forehead kiss for me... Also that 一眼万年 (one glance lasts 10000 years) line Ling Buyi said to describe his first sight of Shaoshang 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love that the characters in this drama are so complex and layered. It's kinda impossible to fully love or hate someone because of their flaws (except for the princesses they're terrible). I think one of the most prominent example is the Wang Ling's case. Also I could never hate CSS's mother because there's something in her that I admire. Nor do I love consort yue because I found she's too harsh to her children (in front of other people!) so she's kinda like CSS's mother in that sense. Empress is wonderful but she's not fit as an empress, Palace politics suffocate her. Not to mention both LBY and CSS, I love them but yes at certain times they annoy me as hell.
Guys the misery of waiting for the new episodes is real ease suggest some good historical drama I can watch while waiting。 I love the story of minglan, have watched ADOS and WRTW, dropped TLB. Any suggestions?

Appreciation because that woman is such an icon.
To Consort Yue: "If you weren't you, I wasn't me, if we were just sisters, how great would it be..."
