Like let's take this drama for example, I know its based on a japanese manga that was written in 2013 so I know there's going to be toxicity in it. I watched the 1st episode of the anime adaptation yesterday and I'm glad they changed the way they met bc anime Jin was trying to come onto anime Akin. I know from the trailer that there still going to be non-consensual elements, since its an adaptation they still have to keep the essence of it, but if they don't change the elements that much I still hope they address the subject and how bad it is, like in KinnPorsche, in the original novel the r*pe was put under the rug, but in the series they showed how Porsche was affected by it and also made Kinn apologize and the production team had even done a twitter and insta post abt the suject. Anyway all that to say that I have watched BLs for a very long time and when it started, god it was like gays could only have non-consensual relationship as if they wanted to represent homosexual relationships as something toxic. But with time it changed, same in the straight genre no one wanted to watch bully type romance anymore. So I'm still hopeful how BLS and GLS can evolve. I kinda feel that they are realizing that the audience's tastes are starting to change a lot and that they have now to adapt themselves we had the thriller BL Manner of Death that started the new wave of non student/office worker Bls, then KinnPorsche with high bugdet production, The Sign with fantastic police, Gl are rather new but I can see they're changing too.
Honestly I hope actors get to act, bc sometimes I feel they are not given the opportunity and told to act a certain, not allowing to challenge themselves.

I didn't feel it was low bugdget, I have watched BL from GMMTV, that had very bad camera work, bad lighting, and special effects. I was honestly surprised by the very pretty wings SPX and the color palette is pleasing to eye, I think I've watched so many bad BLs and GLs that I can say this one is really not the lowest I've seen, Sure it's not Kinnporsche type of high budget but it's not bad. But I'm with you on what you said abt the leads.

HAHA same, I've noticed a pattern when the acting is bad and the plot very average, whether we're talking abt BL and GL, their solution is to put many NC scenes to gain viewership just stop please 😭

Actors that can ACT, both of them Finally hahah, good production, good camera work, no weird shot/angle, good ost, I'm hooked. I wished BLs were all like this cause sometimes the plot is really interesting so I can deal with slight bad acting of one of the main actors, but when you put an average plot, camera work and bad acting like please don't expect good viewership.

Honestly, I'd really like to see Noeul and Boss acting in a series not written by MAME bc if it keeps happening they won't have challenging roles, and keep getting typecasted. I'd like to see Noeul playing smth else than a whiny bottom and Boss something else than a "dom" top obsessed with the bottom and not in a uni setting.

Thank you for seeing the problem here, honeslty I don't why but I kept watching the show even after the said scene I tried but seeing the preview about the 1st sister being strangled by a girl as she slept and another scene of her as placing herself in front of another girl to protect her from getting whipped but being whiped instead and the man not even rushing to apologize...

I watched enough episodes to get my fact straight and comment on the screenwriter choices. It's not by trying to diminishing my opinion that I will change it. I can dislike the show like I can dislike any type of food, it's not bc you shove something down someone's throat that they'll tell you they suddenly like it, the only thing they'll do is shake their head in fake agreement so you'll stop forcing the food down their throat.

how do you know I didn't watch it myself lol, I did and watched 12 episodes so a third of the show, I did not blindly make an opinion on the show based on comments as you implied, I really tried to overlook details cause I like LYX and WXY but the chemistry was not there and the story not entertaining enough so if u like the drama then good for you as for this free space I can comment my opinion on the said show. As for the wife beater I just saw a preview of the 1st daughter being whipped by the man she'll be with. People can make their own opinion by watching the show now if you'll excuse me be pissed elsewhere cause people can have different opinion.

just so dissappointed by the male leads if I wanted to watch a show abt toxic relationships I would if it was promoted as such but no this one is promoting a lighthearted comedic romance show lol sure so leaving them scared after they get kidnapped bc " an obidient wife is the best wife" and being a perveted husband, we also have another one later beating his wife sure. I'm not rooting for any of the couple and the chemistry is in hell. I agree with c-netz this drama is not it

I started to watch this drama expecting it to be like weak hero class 1, which I could not watch fully bc of how dark it was although park ji hoon's acting was amazing, but I'm laughing really hard in ep 2.

I would have thought that Tian Huo would be "annoying" abt Bai Shuo and Fan Yue being lovey dovey but suprisingly she looked at them quite favorably, maybe bc she knows that FY will come to regain his memory but I liked how she looked at BS when she realized that Bai Shuo had Fan Yue's best interest in mind I have yet to see how she'll act when they do fall in love for real.

oh no worries I'm not saying FL always has to be strong, I've enjoyed drama where it wasn't the case, unfortunately I'm unable to get attached to the story but you do you if you enjoy it, it's great then.
