Well the positive point is the acting, they are good actors. The negative is that it's an already done plot, that I can do with if you but you should add something to catch the attention of the audience, if it's not the visuals it should be plotwise. Like for example I really loved Fangs of Fortune and I cannot say it had a new/not done plot but the visuals were astonishing and the acting was great so it made me enjoy it very much, so now if we take the example of the blossoming love the CGI are not bad but certainly not of the same level so there should be something in the plot. Unfortunately that's not the case.
We have the very much stereotypical setting :
FL is the demon seductress who only loves ML.
ML is the usual perfect strong cold cultivator who start to get a soft spot for her very fast.
The FL loves the ML cause he saved her butML don't remember her.
2ndML does remember and love her bc she talk to him once LOL. And he will become evil from what we see in the opening 😑
ML is at least not dumb and does not trust what other ppl say 👍.
Bad guy who raised the FL to hate the humans and cultivator was actually betrayed by his cultivator lover but doesn't know she truly loved him. That is something we discover in ep 15 but it was obvious af.
FL lose her powers in an act of sacrifice for ML's reputation.
Yeah we cannor have a strong FL and strong ML 🙄 I liked The Legend of Shen Li for not doing this.

Anyway it's basic.

I just finished episode 16 and although I tried, I think I'm in a drama slump. I enjoyed Blossom, tried Guardians of Dafeng but it didn't work I hope Moonlight Mystique will do the job but honeslty I'm really waiting for Legend of the Female General.

Gotta give it to Edward Guo for hiring the same actors he previously hired, giving them roles even guest roles when you know hard it is in the industry.

Since I'm now on episode 18 I can say that this series is amazing regarding visuals, I always stop and play back the fighting scenes because it is so beautiful done. The choreography, the camera angles, the lighting and special effect everything is top tier. The staff worked so hard on this series I'm amazed by it. Usually you only have one very well choreographed fighting scene, but it's not the case here, it is just wow.

oh for f*ck sakes and yet it gets adapted into a drama over some other good manga

I feel like I've come back 10 years backward with this type of show, we had made such progress with consent, groping someone and then saying "I'm joking" also when he grabbed and kissed him I was like -_- dude did not even wait to have a confirmation of some sort abt the other's feeling. It's so rushed it feels more like a fanservice drama rather than one with a plot.

Wow my god I saw comments saying the kissing was wild I certainly didn't expect this, I thought it was Bai Lu x Xu Kai or Bai Lu x Luo Yunxi type of level but they've beaten it.
