Please do not invalidate other’s perspective as fangirling just because you do not have any issue . After ZLH…
i can understand that but i think once we get more yingtao understand MORE about what he had to deal thru i feel like a directing choice i would make is show that seen to its full, i think right now it could just be a glimpse
She gets stranded and calls no one? Not even her parents?
i think it might be referenced to when she was the pier w the boys saying that she can always find her way even in a new place. but also probably just doesnt want her parents to worry
im in love!, i think the fact that the first episode was their entire backstory is so much different from other childhood friends to lover type. tho ik we will still get flashbacks, but the fact that we got basically a whole episodes of their childhood was so refreshing and i love it!
i love the friendship between wsw n shuai! however after today episode they might add the kiss scene in n im not prepared for that… it might break the drama for me
Just saw a video on tiktok discussing the SA in the series and just wanted to share the thoughts I had written…
thats was amazing thoughts. as someone who has watched both revenged love and the beautiful man i would subject to agree. however i do wanna touch on a couple different ideas of SA, which may be the uncommon ones.
the "cookie" grab. in a lot of episodes we would see chi cheng grabs wo suowei's butt and though it may be seen as a joke as it is lwk normalize, i think that where some uncomfortably comes in it for me. and for people who say that the sexual assault its look pass, they might consider these scenes as people like to joke about "wanting that cookie". and i would have to agree to some extent. similar to what you said about the development of the character, thru the show.
i believe in episode 5 (or 6 i forgot) where they have the kiss in the corn farm, we see a difference of how he responded to the kiss vs. in previous times such as screaming or yelling. now i can make the argument that it was force due to bribery however there is a slight different behavior from wo suowei.
i also agree that after episode 7 there is a very different change/development that we see from chi cheng, as "he can't bring himself to force" that is very true
however would agree to some extent to the people that are saying that the SA scenes are being scene as desirable for the people that are saying that chi cheng is a "hot red flag" or whatnot that is technically validating his behaviors in the beginning. even if its just for a bit. and i do think also that this is a show that sharing a light onto men's sa, it shares that it happens. i saw a recent tiktok video recently about men's sa surviors of like "13 reasons why, and squid games" and how people make edits of the scenes of them getting SA. now that is weird behavior. to find something "hot" or "attractive" about SA is weird and can be uncomfortable so i get that for the people who view it.
but the show also does a good job on developing the character, and sharing their change. now i also can make the argument that chi cheng would have only change because of wu suowei. if he had not met him, idk if he would have change his behavior. and then that can be problem but thats not the situation of the show.
sorry i was lwk everywhere with this comment. but i agree with what you said, just had some comments of my own.
From what I've got spoiled about the later scenes is that they make it seem like Shuai is romantically interested…
i think that might deter from the romance and the relationship between chi cheng and WSW tho. like i think enterily it would just put be off and make the drama turn into a different genre.
tbh i only go thru the first 12-13 epsiodes before i had to call it quits. i didn't see any chemistry, and at that point i was just watching to watch. i dont think i will continue the drama sadly, which is rare for for me to drop one, but i feel like the characters like i understand both of their sides but there is no communication or compromise between the two that make s the relationship worth continuing or watching if they cant meet each other in the middle. as well on the topic of fate. yeah the topic of fate was pushing it too much. like you cna believe in soulmates but they dont need to be so perfectly the same. like this has no like differences that make each other better type of vibes minus the fact that when they are different it causes them issues.
ehm there are many school drama (slice of life) with a great romance in the arc of university and jobs ...where…
yes of course, but i think they were just trying to say that this isn't a regular youth drama like when i fly towards you. its deeper than romance, even if there is romance in it. and even the director said that was the goal. to have a different pov of youth.
It was heartbreaking. But I don't understand why he didn't go to Qing Yu.
i think it was the fact that he was trying to stay close to "removing her with one click" i think the fact that he knew that she couldnt go to her right away add onto the yearning they had for each other. and i think that the deeper connection between it
however i do disagree with the fact that he was lwk bawling. i feel like the ming sheng that we grew to love and watch wouldve quietly cried... or wouldve gone to the tree and remines. that my opinion tho.
it was stilla very heartbreaking moment for the character and shown a lot for zhou yi ran as an actor.
