I guess the censorship board was sleeping when reviewing WOH and woke up when WOH unpredictably became popular and people started saying how did this pass censorship.

i think WOH only passed censorship coz it was a very poor budget drama with not very popular leads (at the time) so it was given less thought. Besides the novel for WOH ws not that popular

I agree. Acting is pretending. Actors should do their job and pretend and convince u they're in love on screen. They don't even have to be friends irl for that.

Also cp marketing can bring in cp fans who are annoying. If the story is good and acting is good, cp marketing is unnecessary.
Most not very popular actors use cp marketing to get hype and bring in fans to ship them so in that way they benefit. Or platforms force them to do it in order to create popularity for a drama.
There's many fans who can't differetiate actors from characters sadly which works in their favour.
If gj and reba refused to do cp marketing then it means they're popular and stable enough to know they don't need to do cp marketing for it to sell a drama.

like shooting magazine photoshoots, special event like conference, interacting on weibo and tagging eachother, basically acting like their drama characters.

Rumours from melon accts are just rumours and sometimes they make up rumours for clout.. Although that wouldn't suprise me coz both gong jun and dilireba rarely do cp marketing.
GJ only did for Begin Again and Reba for YMG.
i personally don't want cp marketing either. Just want them to do interviews and livestreams to promote the drama that wd be enough for me.

Have not read the novel but those who did say ML is more evil in there. But the drama changed many things from the novel.
Source materials are almost always better than adaptations so i would reccommend u to read it.

Those saying they don't like DFQC softening even a little or having character development should know they're watching a drama from china which has censorship not a movie from hollywood.
Its already nice of the censorship people to allow him do all the evil things when he is the main protagonist. Even Word Of Honor had a problem like this coz of censorship. They can't allow an evil main character to be irredeemable.
Personally i think the censorship limits their creativity and limits stories . But i understand that they can't let DQFC be evil to the end. They have to justify his behaviour somehow otherwise it wd nt pass censorship.

But we can't expect him to have no character development throughout the drama otherwise this drama would not be allowed to air.

Sadly China can't allow him to pass censorship if he doesnt change. They can't allow character like that if he has no redeemable qualities or is not defeated at the end
