Yeah he has super power coz he trained and has spells , charmsand internal energy. The setting of this manhua is fantasy(xianxia) where humans live with spirits/demons . It doesn't have gods and heavenly realm stuff. Also not all humans have such power of fighting spirits though. Some are just regular citizens. The family of ML here (Wang Quan) is known as a family for fighting demons. Only spirits/demons are immortal. Humans just cultivate the power for fighting spirits but they can die. If you have watched The untamed, then its same style of xianxia where its set in the human realm but with fox spirit matchmaker, the spirits live in human realm too.

Wow it rated a tad higher than LLTG! I’m still on the fence about trying to start that one up again
In my opinion, LBFAD is better than LLTG story wise. LLTG was mainly criticised for not exploring the romance btn the leads even it has a romantic title and ending the story underwhelmingly. It felt like the two mains didn't love eachtother. Plus many characters in it were their just as plot devices wit stereotypes and not having anything unique of their own. Also CN viewers didn't like how unrealistically they portrayed the Emperor. LBFAD would get an even a higher rating if it didn't have idol actors and being mainly romance focused which most douban users are highly critical of.

Its a chinese rating site and its well known for being super critical. If a drama gets 7 and above on there then know its a good drama. Its not like MDL where people rate acc to popularity of the actors. Most popular dramas this side have low ratings on there. Also cdramas main market is china so it matters to the team if its well received there. We inter market are irrelevant Douban is mostly critiquel of romance dramas and worse if they have idol actors so for LBFAD to be rated high there then know it was really liked very much
