Can you please explain to me a difference? I don't know thai
It also shows respect. If Thyme and Ren are of the same age, but Gorya calls Ren "Pi Ren" but calls Thyme just "Thyme," it means she respects Ren more but views Thyme as her equal. "Pi" (rhymes with "Pee" but with a high tone) could also be omitted if the age difference is not much but their relationship is close. So in Thyme and Gorya case, if Thyme is okay with her not calling him "Pi Thyme" it also means that they have grown closer or more comfortable in their relationship for "Pi" to be left out.

Ugh I tried so hard to wait FOUR MONTHS!! For all the episodes to be released but I caved..I just love this so…
We can commiserate here together! The show is so good and has so many hidden layers or meanings, I am actually learning a lot about story-telling, what makes a good script (since we have many adaptations to compare and contrast) and various symbols employed in the F4 Thailand production. I normally like to binge too but am now learning to savor and go deeper into the story, characters, etc. And I love how knowledgeable/observant people here are. It feels like a community.

May BL shippers, Tu/Bright haters find peace and fulfilment from other more positive pursuits. Sending them all love, light and healing.

I wonder if it had something to do with the fact that Bright started off with a girlfriend (when 2gether first aired). Bright's ex-gf got so much hate. Some of the hate spilled over to Bright as well. I remembered seeing an interview where Bright got asked pointed questions about his love life. And he asked people to focus on his work, not his personal life. And he pleaded "You don't have to love me. Just please do not hurt/harm me.'

I don't think it's that low? Well that's coming from me who mostly watch Jdrama. Jdrama tend to have lower rating…
Do people really rate a series based on its country of origin? I'm not a veteran around here so I'm just comparing this series against other series that I have watched, based on my own assessment. But I'm curious to learn why Jdrama is of a certain range as compared to others.

If anyone is interested in a DEEP DIVE into F4 Thailand, there is a discussion on youtube that is worth checking out. So fun to listen to an analysis of the different symbols, hidden "Easter eggs", significance of costume choice, story telling tools employed, and more. The two women doing the podcast are so knowledgeable and die-hard fans of the franchise, with many insightful comments.

Their latest EP on EP4 was just dropped: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzPjZSOaNUo

EP 4 REVIEWThis version keeps surprising me how much more they can execute iconic scene so much better. One of…
Agreed. It is important to me that a guy respects a woman, not only her body, but also her feelings (for Ren). On the contrary, Ren's kiss on the forehead could be construed as an aggression. Many people love that moment, but to me, I felt it was a bit of a violation, or at least the relationship was viewed as unequal (Ren holding more power over Gorya).

Thanks for the long thoughtful review!

The biggest change in the Ren-Gorya-Thyme dynamic from all other versions:-Thyme's narration of their childhood…
Very well said. Thank you! This scene was the most poignant for me. I hope Gorya felt it too that Thyme is worthy of love too.

Oh, I love this discussion of metaphors so much!

Are you by chance one of the Witty and Folly duo? If so, I'm a fan! Love your analysis!

I keep coming back to the name of the EP4 "Broken Door" and what it might represent metaphorically in the story. Does anyone have any insight to share? Btw, a gate in Thai is "fence door". So the broken gate is also a broken door in Thai.

After rewatching EP4, I have to say the scene where the head maid reported to Thyme's mom that she went through his stuff and found the towel (from Gorya) really chilled me to the bone. Such a scary, authoritarian, controlling household. My poor baby Thyme!

My eyes are still damp from the family dinner scene and Thyme talking about this family and later about how he was a jerk to Ren as a child knowing that Gorya likes Ren. Not sure what moved me but I love Thyme to bits knowing he just wants to be loved.

I can see how Gorya and her family really open the world for him and mean so much to him that he is trying his best to be a better version of himself. I am moved by how love changed him.

And oh, I love Kaning's reaction to the condescending way Kavin tried to protect his friend so much. So great to see how strong and empowered all female characters are in this series.

Such an excellent episode!

Ok, true. I wouldn't have had the strength to refuse the gift of a Mercedes and jewelries!

"I have to say, I understand why everyone loves Bright. He has such a round, baby-like face but his features are filled with surprising intensity. His expressions are making for some powerhouse moments."

I think this blogger captures perfectly why Bright is so captivating to me. He can really be both an adorable kitten and a hot dangerous tiger! And all that soft adorableness is directed toward one single person: Gorya (me). ;-) Can't wait for EP4!

While waiting for EP4 (scream!!! it's today!), I came across this blog that talks about different versions of the adaptations including F4 Thailand. It's well written. I particularly like this part:

"F4 Thailand‘s symbol is just a teensy bit better because, by having Gorya’s little brother draw grass flowers on the shoes, the show brings in the “strong weed” motif (very important to Boys Over Flowers lore) in a subtle and clever way. Gorya kicks Thyme with the very shoe that represents her resilience. Fucking excellent."

He has so many talents!! The guy is super smart too--so good at math and science and also have artistic and musical skills. Not to mention such great attitudes on animals, the environment, family, and work ethics. I'm such a fan!

I think the main reason I never really fully loved the boys over flowers remakes was because of the annoying FL…
I think I read it from one of the Thai magazines last year that Bright played a role in casting Tu. The casting team selected a short list of actresses for the FL of F4Thailand and Tu was the 1st to act against Bright (who was already chosen for the role of Thyme). They were told to fight without touching each other and Bright ended up getting some of his hair pulled by Tu. Bright right after told the casting team that Tu was it. No need to try another person. (Tu was already a fan girl of Bright and Win before she was cast but had to hide it).

Kudos to the casting team and Bright for picking Tu! She is indeed smart and strong (in real life too) and perfect for the role.
