I wrote a Currently Watching article for the drama. Do check it out! Not in the front page yet but can be read…
Thanks for such a long, thoughtful article! Love how you end it with: "Cute. Hilarious. Touching. Insightful." That's been my experience watching it as well. So good. Can't wait for EP5 tomorrow.
Wow, thanks for such a long, thoughtful article. I really like how this adaptation is very well produced and acted so far. How it handles bullying, class differences and other social issues is very refreshing and satisfying. Love how strong and empowered the female characters are.
Though you didn't talk about the romantic aspects much, I'm glad you ended the article with "Cute. Hilarious. Touching. Insightful." I'm in total agreement. I have really enjoyed this series so far. It gave me so many feels.
Wonderful discussion/comments on youtube under Wit and Folly's Deep Dive into F4Thailand. Here is one among others that I found insightful.
"ep3, Ren: "Because I know there's nothing I can do." ep4, Thyme: "If I didn't try, how would I know?" ep3, Gorya: "Even though I haven't made a difference, I'm relieved that at least I've tried."
Gosh, I love how thick they're laying on the contrast between the two boys, and erasing any doubt who deserves to be with Gorya! Also, Thyme declaring at the end: 'Ren's such a nice guy, and I can understand why everybody, including Gorya, is in love with him' is going to be such a shocker for all new-viewers, when Ren turns up in ep 6, and isn't so nice anymore. Lmao. Gotta hurt like a b*tch, when your 'nice best-friend' stabs you in the back eh? I love how the directors put in so much understanding and empathy in Thyme's delivery, without a hint of guilt, betrayal or potential noble-idiocy. That was such a lovely change from all of the other versions! Ps. Can you tell I love Thyme already? :P" - shruti mazumdar
This is how I'm trying to survive until Sat! This series is so well done with such attention to details that it is so fun to pick things apart and analyze. I've never experienced anything like this before with other series I have watched.
So I wanna talk about Kavin as he's written and how Win is playing him because I'm loving what they're doing with…
Another way he pushes other people down is by calling Kaning "Tua Lek" or "little one" (subbed as "Chipmunk") instead of her name. It might sound endearing to some but it is definitely a power play. He is indeed a complex character with a hidden dark side. I agree that he might be the scariest member of F4.
Why is this series so good?? My son is around Thyme's age and the character and his chemistry with Gorya still…
Yes, yes, yes!
I love Gorya's dad too!! And I love him as a singer. This song (https://youtu.be/9dI5OHke7E4) has such a special place in my heart and it was later covered by Bright.
I just noticed that he is missing from the cast list. I'll try to figure out how to add him but just in case, his name is P' Jeab or Wachara Pan-iam (Thai: วัชระ ปานเà¸à¸µà¹ˆà¸¢à¸¡).
Can you please explain to me a difference? I don't know thai
Muang or Gae are pronouns. They are not used as titles or prefixes before a person's name. Among friends in a group, if the age difference is not much, I might start off calling someone Pi to be deferential but later drop it with mutual consent/understanding as relationship deepens. But it's true that dropping Pi without mutual consent could signify defiance, not comfort or intimacy. In some ways, Thai is similar to Korean or Japanese in that we have formal and informal languages. Sometimes you call someone Pi (though they may be clearly younger) because it's a formal, respectful thing to do. Replacing Pi with Ai (for guys) or Ee (for girls) would immediately switch from formal to informal. If the switch is not matched by the changing nature of the relationship, it could be viewed as rude.

Thanks for posting all the photos!!
The actor's name is Watchara Pan-Iam (Thai: วัชระ ปานเà¸à¸µà¹ˆà¸¢à¸¡). His nickname is Jeab. You can find his bio at https://www.blogen.wiki/blog/th/%E0%B8%A7%E0%B8%B1%E0%B8%8A%E0%B8%A3%E0%B8%B0_%E0%B8%9B%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%99%E0%B9%80%E0%B8%AD%E0%B8%B5%E0%B9%88%E0%B8%A2%E0%B8%A1
