Wow, looking at their fan meet and now in hindsight ... I think that fight was bigger than we saw, had more damage…
It might be several small things that snowballed together - Ohm and Nanon are sold as friends and rival ship which is even show in their Ohm Nanon level up and various events - nonstop competition even friendly is draining. Gmmtv really should let them cooperate more and compete against other people.
just because a drama has a good production doesn't always mean it's the best. i like watching thai dramas because…
I wonder if original poster even watched one episode... it less than a day since this account was made and already behaving like a troll... Anyway production quality of kdramas might be better now - but they are too stuck up in their ways while thai dramas visibly improve every year
From what i know Gun is now having workshop for The Three GentleBros so they won't finish till September/ october so the earliest they can start filming is around that time... this mean we probably won't get home school this year
About this drama, the problem isn't the acting. Even the most seasoned actor(s) would have trouble selling this…
Problem is they are already moving on with the plot - Puean already fallen in love with Taley and confessed his feeling (a milestone for rom-com)- plot is developing but it didn't feel so because they failed at character establishment phrase. Who is Taley?
Not sure if you ever played charades? Bear with me for a moment and lets do BL edition - A character who is pointing hand shower to his face as he crying heart- brokenly? Third image probably appears in your mind - the expressionless boy put on a black baseball cap as he drinks can of black coffee (Semenatic Error) - Smiling boy take off his shirt and show his muscles as he obsesses over his bf dimples - Pat from BB - Porshe gestures a moment before he jumps off the ship. Now your turn to do Taley - kinda difficult right?
Just by non-verbal cues actors can establish character but Sea and Jimmy - can't do it. There is nothing wrong with that and it don't make them bad actors because they are rookies and can still progress. There are also other ways to establish character - social interaction and exposition are most popular ones. But since it body swap drama social interactions are not a way to go leaving us with exposition and monologues. Kuea from the recently popular Cutie Pie is a good example - since he was also rookie and could not establish his character with just no verbal cues, in editing and storytelling they helped his establish his character by introduction to his character and then monologues as Kuea talk to himself in various episodes. It might not be subtle but it help viewers connect with the character. Of course, it simplified version but you already get gist of it.
Not sure if I explained it clearly - but in short - the director and scriptwriter didn't adjust storytelling to Jimmy and Sea current ability. They failed at the establishing character of Taley - that is the core of the story - by making him almost transparent. Making viewers feel it going too fast / slow because they didn't understand Taley. Is he more upset or not as time go by? Is he more accepting now or not, and why? What was Taley baseline emotional state? When it comes to human relationship story - the core of storytelling lay in the emotional state of the main character and how viewers connect to his emotional state. This way we can relate - something like this happened to me too. / don't even try to hurt him / how could he do it to our... / I just hate that character / that character is a better person than me - I would just dump him etc.
Can anyone who's complaining that this setup has nothing new please elaborate? Is it because you know who will…
It might have a lot to do with setting - it pretty obvious that X is in love in Q and was taking his photos (once again love interest is already in love) and now before he goes "study aboard" or "his parent move due to work related reason" he only have 21 days left to make Q fall in love with him too. So he make this whole bet to get closer to Q. As a drama watcher, I saw this 100 of times - but i still plan to enjoy the ride.
That why i wrote "next year" all airing BL were in production before KP even aired. But as a person who watch all airing BL I feel you - expect Love Mechanic and War of Y - rest it various shade of meh
Can't say i don't agree with you. But KP aired april - july - the quickest drama take is about half a year (from pre production, casting to filming etc.) so its too soon for the market to respond yet. But i think that in next year we will get some interesting productions.
