Just like you said, it all comes to basic script.... just check to screenwriters for VV - base script wrote Bee Pongsate while GMMTV workers Nichakorn and Pratchaya have the final say and adjusted it...
Don't we all? They should just change HS to uni... because with all my sympathy to actors they still look like adult mens in short trying to pass as HS kids....

Agree but what can even a good director do when she don't have enough budget to even rent a motorbike? Off words. She could only be crafty and make do which what she had as cheaply as possible.
But I think Kinnporsche and Cutie Pie success with make its impact with projects for 2023. Most of the recent GMMTV BL flopped.... Enchante, Star... Cupid is only decent due to Earth and Mix but it still ... not so great... VV also doesn't have a following on YT (still might change) so GMMTV will surly step up next year because BL are their main money maker

That kinda the point? We were served with actor facade that they show to the world and glimpses into their private life. Their public image that was something they created but it started to life its own live at some point. Who are they? Their public images or people before they were famous? As their public facade chip piece by piece only then we will meet the real people.

Some of the problem you mentioned were caused by budget cuts - Gmmtv cut the budget in middle of filming to sponsor other drama airing at the same time... film action or fight scenes without budget... It made director Nuchy revise the script to adjust to new reality. Nuchy also wanted to make Black and White parents final villains but due to Thai political situation - she was told to "adjust storyline" in more favorable way (Diplomat and judge corrupt - big no- no) making her scrap big part of the script and already filmed scenes. That also why Black and White father and mother so quickly disappeared from the plot. Then with all these changes, she was still saddled with GMMTV resident scriptwriters... Add to it what you heard about "more explicit scenes and given Not me plot" - for me its already miracle she was able to deliver something on this quality
There is fans service and fan service ... there is fanservice just like between Pan and Nott where Nott almost lick Pan ear to get fan attention while Pan can only smile. It just plain bad.
