Well actually no history distortion were proven except presence of actual spy which was claimed by intl fans not Koreans,here people had problem with glorification in easy language and it got proven wrong in upcoming,you should probably watch this drama

The show was controversial indeed even if it didn't distort anything,it would still be controversial cause it got in a scandal , doesn't matter if it was wrong or not but i feel pity ㅠㅠ, cause it was so badly wronged and didn't deserved it but then many people love it too so nvmㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Lol it is trending internationally in watchers list,highest IMDb rated drama list ,one of the highest fan rated drama and it's ratings are increasing every day for a so called contribution drama,it WAS controversial not is , you really think 700k+ people are fool to watch it?other jtbc drama which were popular,many of them git1% ratings but we're a popular topic among fans ,Koreans stood up to defend it on article, you really think you are doing something but you did nothing

You are trying so hard? Do you really want people to show extreme violence on a show ,it will literally be banned from tv for so much exposure of violence lol,they are showing enough bad potrayal to make people assure that there is no glorification,this show didn't d i s t o r t history

I live in korea with my parents,my mom is Indian and my dad is korean,i major with korean history as a part of it and i am explaining things to which intl people don't get ,any problem?

And i am telling you why your thought is surely acceptable but partly wrong, saying this drama is white washing the efforts and wounds is actually disturbing when the drama is literally potraying sufferance of students not only in hostage case but where they protested and we're tortured by the government,the headmaster herself was tortured by electricity and water to pretend as a nk spy ,you shouldn't judge before you watch,and i live in korea as a student so that's where my country is

I am a major student in korean history so wth is your point? A lot of Koreans were hurt cause this drama displayed wrong potrayal of nsa around ep 1-2 and glorified them until 6-7 ep came where the government put up students at risk for their election ,where they showed how Lee gang mu was criticizing government for framing students as spy and killing them while trying to have a good image to audience,you should have understood my whole comment before replying to me ,there is a reason why Koreans are supporting this drama and so am I ,we aren't blind ,and i don't want this drama to be wronged

No one is upset about him being a North Korean spy but glorification of nsa and guess what there was no glorification, your comment just proves that the only distortion you see was ml being a nk spy for which many knetz and k professor who filed an open letter didn't had any single problem for it considering that part was fiction

To the people who are trying their best to work up on author,just to let you know
1) you need to shut up pretty quitely if you are not korean , don't know their history and didn't watch the whole drama
2) if you are hurt and aren't ready to accept the fact,if it's sensitive, simply don't watch and ignore instead of gaslighting others and making them feel guilt of watching a masterpiece
3) if you think this drama is not it or you hate it,its completely okay ,no one here likes everything,but there is no need to bring it and be vocal about your criticism and hate cause more than majority actually love it 🗣️

Koreans aren't fools for supporting the drama and getting it's ratings.high(it's good enough for a drama being through controversy) and neither are korean professors who only gave open letter regarding the father character and thought everything in the drama is fine

They were all misunderstood concept which are clearly better now,i am not saying 1987 wasn't a crucial time and actually rip to those who fought for democracy but got unfair death ,this shows doesn't Romanticize any of it tho therefore it shouldn't be wronged when k ets are now standing up to defend it
