I don't hate the drama this much, just think it's average, but honestly I don't see how it's americanized?! This is a collection of (somewhat badly executed) typical Kdrama cliches!! xD ..maybe I've been away from western shows too much that I don't remember how they are anymore?? π
The drama was fine overall, but the conclusion fell flat, for me honestly. Too many things were already revealed and the good guys kept being outsmarted for a lot of the last couple of episodes. Also it felt really weak in the legal aspect (though I'm not a lawyer or anything so who knows xD). The cast was great but so underused, they deserved better tbh! Good thing it was only 12 episodes, so it managed to keep a good pace and not be boring for the most part! Kyungsoo let's meet on a better project next!! XD
Just want to say that the use of cliched troupes and plot aren't necessarilly "bad writing." For me, it's more…
It was indeed pretty average for the most part. Though for me personally the last 2 eps and conclusion were lower than that..they could have done much better.
One thing about SEO HyunKyu that I like, he's one of the few villains that goes and gets his hands dirty instead of just delegating lmao! I hate him but appreciate his methods..also he's more guilty like that..
I was suggested this after watching Love Between Fairy and Devil and I'm very grateful!! I finally picked it up…
More specifically, they really didn't have to break up...but even if it might have made sense, their reunion did not and was disappointing! He comes back 1y later and expects them to resume from where they left, and that's the least realistic part of the show (which says a lot considering it's fantasy xD) to me! Even if they kept in touch that is not enough to mend that break up, even if he solved the body swapping issue. Also I'll pretend the "story inside the story" thing didn't exist ok? π¬ ...and this is all the negative stuff I have to say tbh! Still a fantastic show!! ^^
I was suggested this after watching Love Between Fairy and Devil and I'm very grateful!! I finally picked it up and I love it!!! It's so satisfying when characters behave normally, communicate, try and solve problems together and have great chemistry! Hard to come by to such qualities in dramas ahaha! Having said that, I wish they avoided that last overused trope towards the end, or dealt with it better, that part wasn't satisfying at all...but I forgive them because the rest was a gem for me!! β€οΈ
Or it's just that they don't have an issue with a romantic relationship between cousins? (even though they don't…
Oops...I forgot to delete my second comment lmao!! no, I was confused for a second but it's because I wasn't done watching the episode and assumed wrong stuff..that was a reply to another comment I left and deleted earlier! xD ..let me delete now ahah!
Really? With the fake setting? And cheap environment?
No, it's not bad quality, but the style (the directing, music too maybe) feels kinda "old school", like early 2010s?? The first few scenes, set in the past, aren't the best, but those ~5-10 min are hardly what makes or brakes the drama! xD
Ok, I knew there would be cliffhanger before S2, and I don't mind if the focus next season is going to be more about SeYeob and EunWoo's relationship (among other things), but that ending was still kinda lame?! xD Still I will be tuning in for S2, even though this is not the greatest drama ever I'm fond of the cast at this point! Also I love Kim Minjae!! π
How is the drama suddenly on WeTV?? was it before too?? I thought it was an Iqiyi show!! (I watched it on Viki, so I'm not sure).. just wondering if I simply didn't notice earlier π€
I have finished this drama, and wow, this has to be one of the best Xianxia I've seen. Does it have flaws? Yes.…
Same thoughts about the ending!! It could have been perfect, it's a pity they didn't manage to ace it! As for XLH, it's true that she is different in the last episodes, but it's mostly an act, by the end we know she's still the old XLH we knew, just with more knowledge about her past and origins...even though we barely saw a glimmer of old little orchid, we know she is still there! (Hope you get what I mean π )

(That's how I interpreted at least xD)
