Dylan mimicking his Dongfang qincang acting is weird...🤣 I cringe everytime his face was shown on the screen...…
it seems you cannot move on from Dongfang Qingcang. But nobody can blame you for getting hung up on him, he is truly that memorable. Dylan did mention that he'd love to play a modern version of DFQC. Perhaps he did play Shi Yan as the modern version of DFQC. I'm ok with that. Who else can play that part than Dylan himself. Plus he brought another element to the character - Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. So. Shi Yan is a combination of DFQC and Mr. Darcy. No wonder he is irresistible. What a treat!

That's the unfortunate result of Bai Lu having two dramas showing at the same time. Many, if not most, of her…
Me too, this is my favorite role for her. She truly reminds me of Bridget Jones. Somebody also compared her to Scarlett O'Hara of Gone With The Wind, though I think she's not a real flirt while Scarlett is. Furthermore, she's not as bratty and mean as Scarlett. But to be compared to Scarlett means Shu Yi is a memorable and stand-out character.

Hahaha funny... Just because the rating isn't align with your expectations mean that the sites rating is manipulated...
I have been a cinephile since childhood and grew up watching American and British shows. I have a pretty good idea about quality of dramas and movies, having made sure in the past to watch as much Oscar and Emmy nominated films and series as I could. I've been watching kdramas, cdramas and jdramas since 2020. So I know that Fireworks of My Heart and Only For Love are better than many cdramas that have higher ratings.

Title Only for Love Spoiler
That's the unfortunate result of Bai Lu having two dramas showing at the same time. Many, if not most, of her…
yeah, that's what i thought so too. she fell in love with him at first sight. however, her contradictory nature prevented her from admitting it to herself. she pursued Shi Yan because she actually fell for him, and her "revenge" and career prospects were actually just excuses for her to make the first move. however, she could not tell Shi Yan either, because she is constantly beset with these inner struggles, which i think is the reason she keeps lying. he was deeply hurt because of her inability to communicate. Both of them hurt each other. Communication was another problem they needed to overcome which they did in the end. I think the reason Shu Yi was mainly blamed fortheir misunderstanding was because there was not enough fans who defended her side. I agree, she never led Yi Yang on. Being friendly was just her nature.

I stopped watching in the middle of the infamous episode 28 just to comment here because I seriously can't believe…
That's the unfortunate result of Bai Lu having two dramas showing at the same time. Many, if not most, of her fans jumped ship to Story of Kunning Palace that they had been waiting for for a long time, garnering a record -breaking 7 million reservations. So, not many fans were left to defend her actions in Only For Love. It did not help that Shu Yi is not your typical cdrama FL, in the first place. I love Bai Lu's acting here, she was able to give justice to the role. But Shu Yi is easy to misunderstand, with her quirkiness and contradictory behavior. I think cdrama viewers are just not used to this kind of a female lead.Especially with the way many viewers seem to watch now, skipping scenes, it would be easy to miss scenes where Shu Yi shows her admirable traits. like how competent she is at interviewing. or when she spoke up to the corrupt battery company head.

Douban is a relic of an age before organized conditioning of viewers' perception became rampant through the yxh and water armies. Now, more and more young Chinese are depending on word of mouth through WeChat and Douyin when choosing dramas to watch.

Review Only for Love
Very well explained the multidimensional characters of Shu Yi and Shi Yan!👏🏻
thank you :) I love the way they were fleshed out well in this drama. The depth of Shi Yan's love, especially, can best be seen, not heard, since he is reserved. The way he would wait for her outside her apartment or workplace is quite touching.

Douyin Topic Views of Only For Love exceed 16 Billion becoming the most popular modern drama on Douyin in 2023. Currently, Douyin (the Chinese Tiktok) is the 3rd largest app in China, just behind WeChat and Sina Weibo.

i laughed at the phone interruptions too. same with shanshan's terrible judgement lol she's a good friend but…
exactly! spoofing is the word! that's why i was grinning the whole time except the angsty parts of course. so i was surprised at how seriously some viewers took the campy bits, like the complete riding clothes. i thought it was intentionally over-the-top 😄

I have seen people saying it has got billions of views. Please stop spreading false information. I have linked…
There's another report:
"In the most widely used smart TV app Huawei Video, the accumulated views of #OnlyForLove ranks 3rd place among all 2023 premiered dramas as of today, although OFL hasn't finished airing on HNTV yet." https://twitter.com/WangHediFolder/status/1731961617251000581

Would Yunhe capture these as well?

Yup, there's a discrepancy in the numbers between MangoTV and Yunhe. I wonder if Yunhe captured the views for the episodes shown off-schedule

i agree, Shanshan is a comedy relief. it's like the blind leading the blind. two over-confident career girls thinking they're on top of the world and can toy with men

how’s the romance between the leads?
Cute and heart-fluttering. Their chemistry is explosive. Shi Yan appears stoic but is soft and sweet for Shu Yi. He truly loves her.

Me too, i found Shanshan's bad advice hilarious! 😂 She was always off the mark, except towards the end when she encouraged Shi Yan and Shu Yi to be lovey-dovey 😂

Wasn't the original title of this drama Camp With Love or something like that? I wish they kept that title because it makes the campy humor obvious, such as the phone conversations that everyone can hear and the romantic moments interrupted by the phone, making the phone virtually a character in the drama. I found this funny and wondered if the drama was making a statement about how the phone has become ubiquitous and intrusive in our lives.

The campy humor is obvious to those who watch the drama diligently from beginning to end but it could get lost to those who don’t get the feel of the drama by skipping scenes or not paying attention for other reasons.

Yeah, I don't think the Douyin numbers account for the discrepancy between MangoTV and Yunhe figures. Didn't Maoyan say that MangoTV verified their number? So, if both Maoyan and MangoTV have the same numbers and Yunhe doesn't have, it appears Yunhe is missing some counts. I had a feeling when I didn't see a surge in Yunhe's stats during special days, like when eps 19 and 20 were shown at 13:14 and when eps 31-36 were made available as fast track that there was something wrong with Yunhe's data. I think they might not have been able to capture the views for those special times because they were not the usual schedule. MangoTV should sort this out with Yunhe.

Yup, i saw that already. The total views shows data that have been captured for the selected period. But if Yunhe was not able to capture all data that it was supposed to capture because of the drama's erratic schedule, then it will be missing some views. Those days where special episodes were shown would have pulled in more traffic than usual. If the traffic on those days were not captured, that is, they were not added to the database, then that could account for the missing views. If MangoTV has their own counts that are different from Yunhe's data, then those two should figure out the reason for the discrepancy.

yeah, if the girl involved is somebody not known to the public, ZLH would not have said he's going through a bad time because who cares if you've broken up with somebody else? the fact that he said it indicates he expects the public to be interested. and the public would only be interested if it's bl

That weibo article was posted the day after eps 31 to 36 were released. I wonder how Yunhe captured the views. Did it limit the capture to the published schedule? If so, and if MangoTV made the downloads available outside the schedule, Yunhe would have missed them. Yunhe would also have missed the 13:14 showing of ep 20 plus the wedding episode which was also shown outside the schedule. That is, the traffic during expected high-traffic times might not have been fully captured. I've been monitoring statistics and was wondering why Yunhe traffic didn't increase as expected during those special showings.

I've always felt that MangoTV's erratic schedule was very disadvantageous to OFL, aside from making viewers antsy. There were sometimes large gaps between airing and some days, only one episode was shown. I wonder if Yunhe knew not to capture views of other programs during those off-days or 1-episode-days coz if it did and the views of other programs were low, they would have lowered the average.

I noticed MangoTV is not savvy or doesn't care about its dramas' standings in rankings. Take the Douban score. It didn't give in to the blackmail of yxh so the drama was blackened. I'm not saying it should have paid yxh off, but I wonder if it alerted fans of the drama to help fight off the yxh and water armies. Also, it could have asked Douban to delay releasing the score until the black comments have been weeded out. Some dramas do this. The drama score for Youth in the Flames of War just got released, 7 months after it aired. That forAce Troops has not yet been released. While I don't believe in Douban anymore, unfortunately Chinese viewers still seem to.

Now, if Yunhe missed some traffic, MangoTV should make sure Yunhe fixes its data.
