Events in the novel were a bit different in this part.
TM/NXY invited guests to his wedding to MXL, and even though they were skeptical because they know MXL loves XXC, they still attended. When the final bow was about to be forcefully done, the ceremony was stopped because there was a violent earthquake due to ZM's revival. They saw the demonic energy surge up the Dark Abyss and the Immortal Array collapse. The leaders and top cultivators immediately went to that site and ZM introduced himself diva style to them as Zhao Ming. haha! They tried to attack him but he evaded them. He just went to MXL and embraced her from behind calling her Ling-er. Even with his body filled with demonic qi, she recognized him as XXC and hugged him back.
Btw, ZM didn't know that A Zhu stormed the Divine realms to avenge him after they changed his fate. It wasn't until XXC merged with ZM that he understood many things and awakened. He of course went to AZhu/MXL immediately after his revival.
There is no big misunderstanding of A Zhu betraying ZM like it is being set-up in the drama now.

Yup, I see the hatred in her eyes too. She even verbalizes it. She can't do anything against TM at this point but wait till she gets her powers back. Only the two of them are the true children of chaos after all. If they have showdown, it's gonna be bad. haha!

ZM is such a diva. We love him! haha!

TM is a pitiful psycho. These two and MXL really have such an interweaved destiny. It's so fascinating to watch.

7 years in the past, XXC at 18yo was still at a lower cultivation so his physical body cannot defeat Elder Gao who is the Alliance leader with high cultivation at the time. Also, future XXC's soul has gotten weaker with the previous time traveling attempts so his only choice was to self-destruct using his spiritual channel in the hope that this blast will kill Gao to protect MXL.

I respect your opinion but I'll be sharing my take on these as well if you don't mind:
1. MXL just recovered and does not have her full powers yet. TM bound her with his powers to stay inside the villa. She literally cannot walk out. It is like when one tries to fly but gravity pulls you down. That's the power of the universe binding her. It is the swirling light that stops her from walking out and also forced her to bow.
2. There is no love spark. MXL only loves XXC but she does share a bond with NXY. She and NXY have the same level of understanding and connection in many instances as evidenced by their deep conversations and actions. Even knowing that it is TM in front of her, it is hard to separate them. She hates him for killing XXC but still regrets hurting a friend. Looking into each other's eyes is a way of reading people - in this case an ancient artifact trying to read the intentions of another ancient artifact. There is no romantic feelings involved in her side.
3. MXL doesn't know ZM. As the strongest Demon God, he also threatened to destroy the world XXC vowed to protect. Unless, he shows more of his motivations to her, she won't side with him yet.
Her vow to protect the world in his stead after she woke up is not cliche. It is in keeping with her character. She did this before already. She was willing to sacrifice her life for XXC's cause and to clear his name in the Immortal Alliance even though he hasn't really shown he loved her yet.
Now she knows that XXC has gone back in time several times to save her as the risk of his soul being dispersed. The final attempt caused his death. This sacrifice for her will not be taken lightly. The ironic thing is she doesn't care about TM or the world but because she made this vow to XXC, she will face off with ZM to keep it -even though she knows XXC was a fragment of ZM.

There are many nuances added to the characters so it is fascinating to see their struggle.

Heard negative reviews of Dafeng, too. Won't be watching it though coz it's just not my cup of tea. For FP, I think I've seen too many "girl boss making her way into the world" dramas recently so I won't be watching it. MM is still on hold. Can't seem to muster energy for more shows 😅😂
Give me Legend of the Female General though and I'm sat for it.

I also thought the cast dubbed this because same as Fiona, I looked at the TBL wiki addicts site and it doesn't list the VAs (unlike the TTEOTM page for instance). Good that PeachBlossomGoddess provided the VA info.
