This new rumoured project of his is super good. I am currently watching the donghua, hope he takes it, the team is good too. Synopsis of the show is quite incomplete so I am pasting donghua's:
Facing the threat of the Qin State, danger seems to lurk within the Han State, which is known as the weakest out of the Seven States. Unknown to the Han Emperor, that very threat is the Great General of Han, Ji Wuye. Working under the Great General are the Four Fearful Warriors of Nightfall.
Each four specialized in military, finance, politics, and espionage. In hopes of creating a new Han State, Quicksand was formed by Han Fei, the ninth prince of the Han. With Wei Zhuang, Zhang Liang, Zinü, and Nong Yu, they support the Prince in realizing the goal of Quicksand while being drawn into a whirlpool of power named “world”.
Actually, there are a few brainless idiots who think the whole c-entertainment industry revolves around just one particular actor, Xu Kai, that no one is more popular or handsome than him, and whatnot. This page has over 7k comments, I bet 70–80% are filled with forced toxic controversies. And how can you forget their classic moves? Whoever says something that doesn’t sugarcoat Xu Kai is called a hater. Even if you just started watching dramas yesterday or don’t know much about entertainment and how to consume it, they’ll still tag you as a hater. Trust me, I’ve been following this page since march 2022 it’s pretty normal.
It might be possible, this pair will be insane, doesn't matter whether their fans will like this cooperation or…
Definitely Bai Lu. She has way more brand endorsements, her dramas are doing well, and one important point is that she’s usually the top-billed actor. That’s a big deal in China, and carrying a drama as the lead takes real effort. She’s also landing some major projects lately. Xu Kai is popular too, and his dramas perform decently most of the time. But considering his talent and the heights he reached before, he really needs to step up his game.
What's the possibility of him and Bai lu working together again?
It might be possible, this pair will be insane, doesn't matter whether their fans will like this cooperation or not, this will get way too much hype, and I think Yu Zheng is crazy enough to pull off this. But the main issue would be actors themselves, and both of them are popular enough to not get pressurized by studio, Bai Lu is doing tremendous job as an actor, I mean look at her career, she keeps getting main role, top billing, and all of her dramas are performing well in terms of popularity, I don't know about quality, but who cares as long as you can make money.
There’s something horribly wrong with this show. The scenes that are supposed to feel touching or comedic feel cringe. And is Won Jin Na really the main fl? She barely appears in 9 episodes.
for ex: ji sung and reporter's interaction in 9th episode. The way both ml and his friend interacts with that young girl.
I have yet to finish 9th episode, I just watch 5-10 minutes while eating that's it. This might sound that I am over exaggerating the things or criticising this show way too much, but honestly this what I really feel, I don't know whether this is just me...
Has Xu Kai ever received months-long intensive training before filming action projects? While actors like Xiao…
I didn't read the whole comment, but what I can tell after reading the first few lines that you are curious that other actors take some time to practice their moves, action scenes and all, then why not xu kai? The answer is simple, in terms of martial arts and action scenes he is already skilled and capable.
This drama is decent, but there is no emotions in it, I can't feel for any victims, main characters or villains, it's just... happening but nothing feels at all, and there are plenty of reasons for that.
Finished 2 episodes, it's really good so far. I am loving the relationship dynamics between them. Only problem is the way they are shifting the timelines, especially at the end of the each episodes, and also the way they are depicting her intrusive thoughts are not matching the theme at all, it's distracting me.
The first 2 episodes had lot of cringe moments, overdramatic scenes, and plot errors. Ji sung's acting was exaggerated too, when he appeared in the court as defendant/accused, and he was yelling while crying that "I am innocent", that was looking awful.
I think the whole relationship tree is messed up, if not, then the whole romance thing is messed up for sure.
What I am able to figure out: This yeol guk had two wives. He had fl with his first wife (dead), real hongrang with the second one i.e., yeon ui (female antagonist). He also had a lover, which turns out to be our ml/fake hongrang’s foster mother, and she once bore his child too. Now the thing which is soo wrong jae I was doubting our ml for 5 episodes, which was fine, but in 6th episode he gave her some sachet, after which she recognises him as real hongrang for the first time. But the way she acts towards him… I don’t know, it’s clearly different. I mean morally even if you are step siblings, still you are bloody blood related, shares same father.
And this moron too, why being simp? I mean you already made her acknowledge you as her brother, then why are you trying to go in different way? I am on 7th episode and things are getting worse. Anyhow, she shouldn’t have any feelings towards him other than brother love.
And the people who keep saying, this romance is fine, for sure, in future episodes jae I will know the truth that he is not hongrang, and they don't share any blood relationship then it'll be fine, but that is for the future, for now this is totally wrong.

Are you his manager or from the PR team?
Do you need me to sugar coat him?

This was rather bland, and considering the directors and actors in it, this could be considered average at best.
So, my disappointment with my anticipated k-drama list continues.
Ji sung's acting was exaggerated too, when he appeared in the court as defendant/accused, and he was yelling while crying that "I am innocent", that was looking awful.
Last 2 episodes were good.
cinematography and sound was great and lee jae wook did wonderful job.
