At first, I thought I only liked ALP because it was aired in 2021 when I was stuck in lockdown and had nothing to do. Recently, because the last immortal was aired, I went to rewatch ALP and I still love it. It is still a good drama

The main reason why the douban rating is so low is because many people only watched the first two episodes and thought that the ML and FL were "fat and ugly." So they never gave the drama a chance. I wish they would appreciate the storyline and acting more because I really think that it would prove them wrong! ALP is one of the most well-made and crafted Xianxias and the CGI and effects are by far the best to appear in Chinese dramas.

i think it's watchable? the reason i dropped it is because it was completely misrepresenting the chinese history behind the story so it was driving me mad! but if you put that aside, it's not as bad as some people make it out to be and you could give it a try
