yes because, if you imagine that xue wu never interfered with all this, lan ling wang would've married zheng er instead and then gao wei would've poisioned lan ling wang and there would've been no one to save him. it is because xue wu interefered, that zheng er married gao wei instead and hence had the opportunity to save lan ling wang.
as for the part about xuewu's grandma knowing that she would die, i don't think the drama made it deliberate but i think it is hinted that's the case

the reason why her grandma kept on stopping her from getting close to him is because she knows that xue wu is the only person capable of saving lan ling wang from his fate. the prophecy shows what would've happened if lan ling wang married zheng er but his fate was changed when he married xue wu instead, because that's what led to him being saved from being poisoned to death. i watched this a while ago so i forgot but i'm pretty sure on the last episode, after she dies, they put up the words "and who said fate cannot be changed?"
watched 10 episodes so far and i feel like the drama is good but hasn't captivated me yet. around what episode did you guys become attached? i need to know of i should continue and if it gets better
