And the question isn't simply “Why didn't he warn BN?” but “Why did he allow the situation to get that close to exploding?” The elevator → hallway sequence is basically psychological torture . The KD deliberately slows everything down because Gi knows something BN doesn't know, and the suspense comes from watching the possibility of the husband and BN crossing paths become increasingly unavoidable. What makes it especially suspicious is that Gi has opportunities to intervene. If his only concern were protecting BN from being exposed, the obvious thing would be to warn her immediately: “Your husband is here. Don't come out / leave / be careful.” He doesn't do that. So the omission feels intentional rather than accidental.
What's actually going on with Gi
Gi is essentially letting the situation develop because he has his own reason for needing the husband to be there / for allowing the encounter to potentially happen. He's not behaving like a straightforward protector anymore. He's watching, calculating, and withholding information.
That's why his behavior feels so creepy in those scenes. He isn't panicking in the same way BN would if she knew what was happening. He knows where everyone is and what the consequences could be. We're waiting for the door to open, the elevator to arrive, someone to turn the corner, etc., while Gi seems to be one step ahead. And that's also why the corridor scene feels way more intense than the actual amount of physical action would justify. The suspense is entirely about information. We know enough to understand that these people being in the same place could blow everything up, but we don't yet know exactly what Gi intends to do with that situation.
Is Gi trying to get BN caught because the encounter serves a larger purpose for him. And is there an ulterior motive. His silence is just incompetence or an oversight. The elevator shot is particularly nasty because the drama keeps giving you the possibility that the doors will open and the husband will see her. Then the corridor does the same thing, every footstep becomes threatening. It's almost Hitchcock-style suspense: the characters don't have the same information as the viewer, and the viewer is desperately waiting for the collision. What Gi gains from letting the situation play out like that perhaps he didn't know the husband / reporters were there also, until much later. Suspicious!

You can put two talented people together and get nothing. WHO CAST THESE PEOPLE TOGETHER??? The sequences are there. The scenes are there. The script may be there. But the ACTING CHEMISTRY??? THEIR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS??? THEIR DELIVERY??? THEIR EMOTIONAL RANGE??? HELL NO. The awkwardness. The uncomfortable pauses.
