I'm a pharmacist and I thought Concerta or whatever they have in they country. It could be Atenza, Metylgold,…
OROS is slow-release hence why I thought Concerta. Atenza is as well, but doesn't use the OROS delivery system. She mentioned wanting 30 pills (27mg each) in the message to the girl who can provide her the medication.
So Seulgi was popping concerta all this time? I know that comes in 27mg. I wonder what the new drug is that Jaeyi gave her, because ADHD medication definitely doesn't give that effect lol (but guess the water coming at her is just a metaphor for her getting in the zone again by being underwater, so it's not the effect of the drug per se)
Jaeyi seems both amused and slightly dissapointed by this revelation, though that's a little hypocritical of her, because with all the money she can spend on tutorting and medical interventions she has an edge over most people. Definitely not just getting by on her own merit.
Guess we now know who the main sponsor of the drama is, way too many lingering shots on that pad/tampon brand lol
is that im the only one who feels that the reviews weird and fake ?
They are, but it's always like that here. It's like the IMDB of Asian cinema/tv when it comes to ratings. People vote with a bias, not with a knowledge of cinema. So... who cares really lol
In the webtoon Seulgi got suspicious because ''Jay'' had a ton of pictures of her on her phone. She was afraid she was a stalker, so started distancing herself for a little while. In the drama they didn't just added pictures of Seulgi but also information about her past and father on the phone, so that might come into play later. Drama Jay definitely seems more unhinged than her webtoon equivelant.
It should be illegal for people to look this much younger than their actual age. How in the world is Lee Hye Ri…
Dermatologist + botox can make a huge difference, especially if you already have a younger looking face. A face is an idol/actor's bread and butter, and with Korea's beauty standards you just know they are on top of that shit.
Seulgi's father died. Nothing points to him being her father. Does seem they are setting something up, that Jey and her father might know more about Seulgi's father's death than the drama let's on.
Seems there are some changes when it comes to the main character. She was bit of a doormat and passive to a fault in the webtoon, here she seems more assertive. It's a great change imo. Jay constantly coming in to save the day and Seulgi not always questioning her motives got a little tiring after a while. Hopefully she'll put up more of a fight when it comes to Jay's more questionable behaviours later on in the drama too.
btw ppl who got to see the first few episodes already said that the kiss is intense so maybe there's gonna be…
Perhaps this was intense for a Korean audience who aren't used to lesbianism on their screens? I mean, they didn't say anything about a second kiss. Just that it was "intense".
You thinking people wanting to see lesbianism on screen is "15 year old boy" mentality says more about the way…
I am sure people do care about the storyline. They are just excited Korea might finally have a drama with blatant lesbian elements. The conversations here will take on a different tone as soon as the drama airs. From my perspective, it's not going to be a gl/lesbian drama at all. Its going to take a dark and toxic turn, and turn into your typical story about teenage female obsession that we see so often in cinema. It'll walk a fine line between friendship, obsession, and lesbianism, but will never truly go there. These "friendships" rarely end well on screen. Them kissing (was more a peck in the promo they recently released) is gay for sure, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the story is going to be a full out GL.
It was never a full-on GL to begin with. No overt lesbianism in a physical sense. Subtext? Definitely. It's about…
People need to be aware of Korea's censorship laws and limitations when it comes to dramas. Even if the writers and director want to make it blatanty gay, there are a lot of forces working against them. Subtext is fine in this case and good tv/film makers know how to bypass the limitations they are given. I mean, Jeongnyeon was really obvious in it's subtext and there was no denying what was going on there. I have no issue with that. Little more tricky if the promotional material gets overly queer-baity, I guess.
Those people should just watch western of Thai lesbian/GL media if they don't want to be dissapointed and want overt homosexuality. All we can hope is that Korea is going to be more accepting in the future, but until then we can't make demands for something that's obviously still taboo within Korean society.

Kiss? I don't think so; camera angles were placed intentionally awkward. I meant the moments where Hye'ri's character is getting uncomfortably close to Seul-Gi in the ball pit and holding her face with two hands. That's like Pitch Perfect queerbaiting.

Oh yeah, its queerbaity for sure. The latest promo is mostly Hye-rin's character giving longing slowmotion stares and looking like she wants to kiss the lead. No excuse for that lmao.
It was never a full-on GL to begin with. No overt lesbianism in a physical sense. Subtext? Definitely. It's about a dysfunctional friendship that's very obsessive and thus becomes toxic. Obsessive and co-dependant female friendships on screen often have lesbian undertones, whether it's intended to or not.
Hye Ri's characters in the webtoon was giving mixed signals, to the point that the other character asked if she's in love with her. Everything leading up to that point did point towards that, like, there was no heterosexual explanation for that kind of behaviour. Which straight woman gets this obsessed with another woman and touches them in a way that the character does? But nope... the writer chickened out and just kept it subtext. They even put in a whole ''no homo'' moment. The writer of the webtoon was playing games with the readers for real. Lol
Honestly, if they keep it similar to the webtoon then there is no way that people aren't going to think that Hye-ri's character isn't in love, even with them ''de-butching'' the character and getting rid of some more suggestive elements.
C-rated version of The Glory indeed. First two episodes had all the cliches that you can expect from a Japanese…
That part of the story is different, but you can't deny that they took a lot of ''inspiration'' from The Glory, and possibly also made this because of The Glory's succes.
I chuckle everytime I see Sasaki Nozomi's character in her house with all the pictures on the wall and the projector playing videos. Another drama that came out last year called ''Kesenai "Watashi"'' also rode on The Glory's coattail. I have no issues with this, I love a nice revenge drama, but it's obvious why you're seeing a bunch of dramas like this after The Glory's succes.
