Unpopular opinion: I'm glad that they didn't show Taesung being in love with a new woman. If there was a time skip between the time he drank with Sol and Sunjae and the time he met someone new then it would have been fine but if it's now, it would have felt off. Yeah I know LR had a 1 month time skip coz it seems determined to use all the tropes and tools used in dramas, but I'm thinking that if it's about Taesung's feelings, then a longer time skip is needed.
If he immediately had a relationship then it would have somehow diminished what he felt for Sol or it will make the new woman a rebound girl which would have been unfair. Seeing Sol finally being with the man she wanted to live for will give him closure but he would still need time to finally be over her.
Oh now I'm thinking that maybe they could do a spinoff with a setting of Sunjae and Sol having some children and Inhyuk and Taesung finding girlfriends π
The bad guy killed Sun Jae initially. In a later episode Sun Jae explained that the pills were vitamin pills.…
I think the show clearly established that it was never suicide in the first place because the psycho driver was always the one who bumped Im Sol's phone in the concert. Sol and Sunjae's meeting allowed him to follow and then attack with chloroform/kill Sunjae. It's just that Ep1 Sunjae may have been less alert than Ep8 Sunjae who was excited for his date with Sol. Do you mean the bottle he stared at in Ep8? That was the jar of candies Sol gave him after his surgery. He didn't want Sol to know that he treasures it coz he still didn't know that Sol loved him back. The OG Sunjae is also the Sunjae that was in Ep16. Sol did not go to a parallel world or a parallel time, it had always been him, only his future was getting altered based on what Sol did in the past. I hope my explanation helped π
Lovely Runner is just on a league of its own. It has become my standard for a great romcom. This is also one of the rare times when I didn't question the time travel element and the changes such travel brought. I loved every minute of Ep16. In just 5 minutes, the psycho got hit by the truck of doom and died in the water which is a straight up parallel on how Sol lost her mobility and Sunjae his life which is exactly what I wanted to happen. I always knew Taesung was the key person for that and his dad saying that the psycho's death changed the fate of someone who should have died, was such an important dialogue. The remaining time was used for romantic fluff-again using parallels from earlier episodes, rounding up of remaining plotholes/potential trouble that might derail the couple's happy ending-with Halmoeni once again being the secret keeper, and showing the Im siblings now pursuing their dreams. And I finally got my cruise scene and wedding venue scene. It really did satisfy my definition of a happy ending. Then it has the bonus of Ryu Sunjae/Byeon Woosoek finally singing the extended version of Star.
so, no one talks how at some point it was a 32 yr old imsol dating a 18 yr old sunjae...... (i know in a 18 yr…
I have no beef with that because they started to date when they were already in college and by then both of them are legally adults, even if mature Sol is the one in young Sol's body
I loved the scene of the memories flooding back to Ryu Sun Jae in totality. The crazy back and forth, the sound…
I really think this should have a lot of nominations in the next Baeksang. Even best screenplay coz even though the story is simple, the script was obviously well thought out, its logic and scenarios makes sense which is very difficult for a time travel/parallel word dramas.
Sunjae adult seductive mode is so illegal! π« - Hide Sol shoes so she won't ran away- Stroming half naked in…
Our oxygen boy has finally decided to use his moves coz he knows he's pretty and banking on that to charm Sol. He only backed off when she said she loves someone, you can actually see his smile falling off as he accepted it.
Not only does Sun Jae remember his time with Sol for every variation of his past, he also remembers what she did…
This is why despite the trauma that was Ep13 I still think writer nim is a genius coz now Sunjae is not just the depressed musician who felt guilty or the superstar who harbored a crush for 15 years or the young man who wanted to do everything to save his crush but feels like an integrated version of himself.
