that's my hesitation with this drama. I love He Yu, I like Esther, but I don't like how she's gone full-throttle…
There are two arcs, the one in Thailand which is at the beginning, her character is much younger and very inexperienced in life so she is spoiled and yes, acted cute with the ML only, but she is not a pushover and still has a mind of her own. In the second arc in Nanjing, moving forward 6 years, she is now a working career woman and you will see her character matured with the storyline. As you mentioned, she has range and you will see it in this drama.
I’ve been rewatching different episodes and their chemistry is sizzling and so sweet at the same time! They are acting but it looks natural and I guess this is the skills of them as actors. Their dialogues are also beautifully written. I think it will be a long time before I can truely move on from SAL.

In that case try a few more, say until episode 8-9 and if it’s still not working the it may not be for you. From Ep 19 onwards that’s when Mu Mu becomes more matured.
