Ok, I just wanted to say something that I think is pretty logical. I hope that some people understand, and agree with what I got to say.

So, as we all know, Luhan sung the opening ost for Heaven Official's Blessing 2nd season's donghua. And everyone was amazed and excited. There's a rumor going around stating that Luhan sung this song only to say: "Thank you, but no thank you." In other words, that he sung the song just to not make people sad but he actually doesn't want to be the role.

I'm going to say my opinion on this. I believe this rumor is FALSE. The reason I believe this is because I know Luhan's personality very well. I know he wouldn't sing a song to give hope to people and then tell them "No thank you." That's not how he is. Is logical that if he didn't want to be Xie Lian from the start, he wouldn't have considered to get involved from the start. However, he did get involved and sung the song for us. I believe he likes the story very well, and I also believe that he would be that type of person that will accept an opportunity like this. Come on, we all know that this project will become very successful, I'm pretty sure Luhan knows that too. He wouldn't want to waste an opportunity like this, especially because many fans support him to be Xie Lian.

To conclude, I believe that Luhan sung the song of the opening of Heaven Official's Blessing as if to say: "Thank you for the support, I'll try my best."

Now, we just have to wait for who the director will choose as Xie Lian. Cause we know that there's many people auditioning for the roles. Regardless of who it is, I just hope they are good actors and that they can portray the roles well.

Is not that they took back the cast, the thing is that the cast that was placed was just a rumor. Nothing confirmed yet. Once is confirmed, all the actors should be confirmed not only three. There's no official confirmation just yet. We still have until April 30th which is the day they will close auditions to choose the actors.

So please don't get too excited nor feel disappointed because this most probably will change. Idk why it was posted here if it wasn't even officially announced yet.

Totally agree with Ximy's post. In BL adaptations, the first thing they need to change is the relationship of the characters to a friendship or soulmate relationship due to the censorship of China.(Just like The Untamed, Word Of Honor, and other dramas.) We should definitely not expect to get more than that, otherwise the drama wouldn't pass censorship it will be immediately ban.

I'm also fine with the censorship, as long as they stick to the plot of the novel and the main characters have chemistry, I will be the happiest person alive lol. It doesn't matter if they take out the BL, and replace it with a Friendship or Soulmate relationship. What matters is that we can see that they are very close to the point that they would die for each other. Honestly, I believe in the director of this drama. I believe he knows what he is doing since he already made another danmei adaptation from the same author (Mo Xiang Tong Xiu.) Which was, The Untamed. We all know that The Untamed is a huge success in China, and is recognized by many people. I don’t think it will be hard for him to
stick to the Plot, and make this successful as well.

Another thing I do want to mention is that I indeed like the cast of Winner's King. The actors do have a age gap as well. Tan Jianci has 30 and Chen Zheyuan has 24. That would be a gap of 6 years. While in the novel the gap of the characters is like 8 years, so is not a big difference. Is pretty similar. Also, I find both of them very attractive since I have already seen dramas of them previously and they are amazing. The part that worries me is probably the chemistry. Idk how close those two are, but I believe they can do a good job. I have seen pictures of the behind the scenes and they seem to have quite a lot of chemistry. I'm hoping for the best. ^^

Honesty, I also don't think age gaps matter. In The Untamed Wei Ying was supposed to be Younger than Lan Wangji, and at the end, they chose Xiao Zhan as Wei Ying who is like 6 years apart from Wang Yibo who did Lan Wangji. And honestly, many people fell in love with their chemistry and looks. Xiao Zhan indeed looks very young. And both him and Wang Yibo did a good job both in the drama and behind the scenes. I believe what matters is that they can portray well their roles no matter what their age is. :)

I believe the cast selected was a good choice. The main actors indeed have an age gap. Tan Jian Ci is 30 years old while Chen Zheyuan is 24 years old. This will make it 6 years of gap. The gap of the characters in the novel is 8. So is not a big difference. Tbh I do believe they will do well. They are well known actors. We'll see how well they do. ^^

Oh, that's such a cool challenge. I would love to participate, but sadly I finished the novel on February :(

The last update about tgcf drama that is going around weibo says:

(By the release time, they are trying to say that on January 3rd was the day that they open casting for people to apply and audition. By deadline, they mean that on April 30th is the last day to decide the cast. Which means that the cast will most likely be confirmed for either April or May.)

Also

Director Chan Ka Lam plans to start the filming cycle of 180 days in June 2021.

(This means that they plan to start filming by June of this year. The actors that will be chosen will have the entire month of May to prepare themselves with training and also have time to read the original novel to adapt to their characters.)

The rumors of arrest I believe are false. We have to remember that MXTX is a hidden author. She has never shown her face and she has always been very secretive with her work. The reason for this is because BL novels are a bit risky to write in China because of the Chinese government and restrictions with LGBTQ. Also, the reason of her leaving social media was because of the bunch of hate and comments she received from haters. As for now, I would like to believe that she is busy with her life and she is hopefully still working on her fourth novel.

Oh yes! The author is amazing! She created three beautiful stories. (Heaven Official's Blessing/ Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/ Scum Villain Self-Saving System) And she is currently writing a forth one. :D

I don’t dare to compare any Chinese BL adaptation series. However, I do have to admit that BL adaptations are getting better and better every year despite the censorship. Word of Honor and The Untamed are very unforgettable and touching!

Hmm, if it will come out after Immortality, than I'm guessing that for Q3 (July-September) Winner's King will be aired.

It would be nice if people would stop saying actors name that they hear from rumors from Chinese Netizens as to confirmed them. These are just rumors, and if you say them, it might cause confusion and for some disappointment if it is not true. All of the things that are posted on weibo so far are just Chinese Netizens wishing for actors to be the main leads but none of these are confirmed. Until it is not officially confirmed, let's not cause anticipation for the fans or else it will be very disappointing. China is well known for creating many rumors, we cannot guide ourselves with those. You are of course free to share your opinion of who you wish for the roles to be, but please don't say that "I heard that it will be this and this actor." Because those are just rumors. I don’t want nobody to get too excited and then become disappointed because it was just a rumor. Let's wait patiently guys. We can do it! If the fans from 2018 waited patiently for The Untamed's cast, we can also wait patiently for Heaven Official's Blessing's cast.

This same thing happened back then when Chan Ka Lam was choosing the actors of The Untamed. It was very hard to choose since Lan Wangji was a hard role. They luckily found Wang Yibo who he himself contract for the role. So, I believe they are having the same struggles now with TGCF since both Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are complex characters. We can wait patiently just so that they can find the right fit for these roles. We'll know soon ^^

All of these actors are just rumors from Chinese Netizens that wish for them to be part of the cast. Nothing is yet confirmed. When it gets confirmed, it will be posted officially. As for now, don't guide yourself with rumors or else it might lead to a disappointment. We will be surprised once the cast comes out.

Shooting will start on Q2 from this year. So around April-June. As for the cast confirmations, that should be out soon too since people are hoping for the crew to start recording for April. We will hopefully know the cast by the end of this month or probably by April.

I do agree. But I wouldn't mind if known actors are chosen either. Immortality is another censored BL drama Adaptation that is going to be aired this year and it has well known actors in it. And is anticipated a lot, people can't wait to watch it. So, if the actors are famous or not that doesn't really matter. What matters is that the production, effects, and costumes look nice and grab the people's attention to watch. :)

Okay, so. Just wanted to talk about the rumor of the director change many people are worried about. I'm here to let you guys know that this rumor is false and director change is not going to happen. Chan Ka Lam is going to work hard for this project just like he promised. Once again, Chinese netizens are creating rumors to spread worry to BL fans. This is not the first time we hear rumors like this that cause concern to the fans. Same with the rumor that The Untamed was going to be banned, that is also NOT true and it will not happen. After all, The Untamed has been having success all these years. It will not get banned.

As far as I know, this is just a rumor going around like you said. So it hasn't been confirmed and also changes hasn't been made. To be honest, I don’t know if this rumor is true, but if it is I just hope for the best. I also find it quite strange to change the director so suddenly at the last minute. We all know that TGCF was supposed to start recording for Q2 and cast were supposed to get chosen soon. So this rumor is quite sudden and a bit odd. But we'll see if it is true or not.
